Lewis to Manchester

Per Lakingsinsider

No big surprise here.

So, who's going to sit when JW returns?

Purcell had one of his best games last night and Parse has been great in all 4 games. Could TM's pets Ivanans or Harrold actually be a healthy scratch?

From watching Parse in Manchester and the games up here he would not do well on the
4th line with Richardson, Ivanas, or Harrold. So when Williams comes back its going to be tough for Parse because you can't drop Simmonds down to the 4th line. Purcell and Parse seem to have some chemistry so TM is going to play with the lines abit.

Simmonds is one player I think that can play on all 4 lines.

I doubt very much Parse will be moved from the 3rd line. I suppose Simmonds can play the 4th line and sit Ivanans which would give kings a solid 4 lines to roll with. Don't really have the perfect solution at the moment because everyone deserves to play imo.

Why not?? The kings 4th line gets a decent amount of ice time, having simmonds on that line may result in them generating some goals aswell

That's exactly my thought. Simmer is VERY flexible. He can fill in anywhere when anyone needs it.

If everyone else is playing so well that Simmer is on the 4th line, we're having a good problem

Smyth-Kopi-Williams
Frolov-Handzus-Brown
Parse-Stoll-Purcell
Harrold/Ivanans-Richardson-Simmonds.

Nice!

Smyth/Kopitar/Williams
Frolov/Handzus/Brown
Purcell/Stoll/Simmonds
Parse/Richardson/Harrold/Ivanans

I would like to see Harrold or Ivanans a healthy scratch. There has been no fight at all really this year, and TM not even a real fan of it. Plus Ivanans does not even play in the 3rd period. Parse would be moved up to the 3rd line to take Purcell spot also during the 3rd period too. If there needed to a a fight Simmonds could fight or Matt Greene.

Probably Ivanans should sit unless things get chippy for a few games, or it's a contest where fights are a given (Ducks, for example).

Funny, because I think Ivanans has been playing really well the last couple games. Probably the best I've seen him play hockey wise. No dumb penalties, solid hits, and some decent chances even though he didn't bury them.

Lewis is a prototypical pick of our last regime. We could have had Claude Giroux, Nick Foligno, or Chris Stewart instead. Thanks Al Murray!

If any pick had a Lombardi/Hextall Philly connection from the 2006 draft, this was the one. Philadelphia was going to take Lewis if the Kings didn't (this was also the draft where Clarke forgot who he was drafting before selecting Claude Giroux).

I think overall, it was a very weak draft. I also remember reading somewhere that the Lewis pick was prior to Futa coming over to the kings.

I think Lewis should stay with manchester for a good year or two before we take another look at him. He might be one of those slow developers.

Onwards and upwards I always say.

Lewis is going to start for Manchester on Sunday..

Harrold could very well be a scratch, even though I think they got Jones to keep Harrold up at foward..

thought I read Lewis is expected to be in the lineup for Manchester Saturday night against Worcester.
Should be a great game, Worcester is right on Manchester's heels in the Atlantic.

completely agree about lewis. i think he's just a late bloomer. he might just need another couple of years in manchester to get stronger and continue to develop. i'd kinda like to see him play with cliche, as his niche in the nhl might be as a winger who excells in a shutdown/forechecking/pk type roll but can still provide some offense.

I hope he gets to play on the top line with Moller and Lokti. I wish him nothing but the very best.

Nah, he was a healthy scratch for interviews as well.

I was actually hoping that he could play on the top line but you very well could be right that he may be better suited for a shutdown forward.

scratch Ivanans and bench Harrold as an replacement tool.
Keep Parse into the lineup.
Mix the centers and everything is fine.
