Thats because back when he was a goalie he would always fight to see the puck.

Just send him to Albany. Peters deserves a chance and we can always use Leighton as a backup for Murphy down there.

Seems like it's about time for a meaningless Staal goal.

I was going to make mention of his 1 way contract, but who in their right mind would claim him?

I think it's more a problem of spending more money. Whoever we call up will be getting paid NHL money while we will still be paying Leighton his $600,000 in the AHL.

Props to FSN for not showing the replay of what just happened. I like watching Maurice on the bench and Leighton skating around aimlessly instead.

6-1......great game again.

We should have pulled Leighton to start the third. At least we might have scored a goal this period.......pathetic game again.

I never knew that Paul Maurice lost an eye in the OHL? Tripp once again is all over it. He certainly has a cyborg like replacement considering how functional and ....eyelike it is. It's almost like he never lost an eye at all.

It's cool that Leighton will always remember his last NHL game because it's like, totally the day after his daughter's birthday.

Too bad his daughter didn't start today, she couldn't have been any worse.

He didn't lose the eye, but he only has peripheral vision in that one. Sad thing is it was a charity game he was playing in when it happened.

Oh, I know the story about how he lost partial vision in his eye but you know that's quite a ways from .....losing an eye. It just struck me kind of funny how Tripp so nonchalantly dropped the knowledge that Maurice had lost an eye.

If I ever see Leighton in goal for us again, it will be too soon. If we need to rest Cam, and we will, I would prefer Tripp, Stormy, or a cardboard box were put in before Leighton. Yes, I'm bitter. Without him playing this game we have a very realistic chance to win.

Good game by Pitkanen and Sutter. Although Emery made a couple of good saves, we made him look amazing. And anytime someone wants takes that girl wearing number 19 for the Flyers and beat her for 24 hours straight, I will be glad to help.

Well, in Leighton's defense, he should have been in before now and should have had enough time to prepare for it. Tossing him in today on short notice after sitting 27 days is not a great idea.

But don't worry folks, we're on a 47-point pace for this season after 12 games

We need a classy theme for this season. So far I have come up with,

"It's Hall part of the plan"
