They'd better be, they're gonna run you over 900 bones, depending on where you live.

Any pics? I've only been able to find one. They're way out of my price range and I'm far too untalented to even bother, but I'm always interested in new gear.

A new pair of the aluminum infused runners alone would set you back another $100. These things are going to be crazy, and cost a lot.

Bluelines, our rep was pretty admanant that all three tongue inserts are included with the skate.

I'm pretty excited for the new goal skate. The modified cowling looks like it has great function and you can finally, finally replace the steel without taking the whole flippin' thing off.

Geez... Now I understand why they're only making a limited number at retail. They're not going to sell more then a handful of pairs.

At like $900? Nope, can't sell a skate that costs more than a new PC. And who needs "aluminum infused runners" for another $100? A 0.1% performance gain for a hundo? No, no thanks.

I've spent over $500 on a pair of skates and $200 on new sticks more than once, it is entirely marketed to me and idiots like me. The problem is they're overestimating our collective level of idiocy.

Problem is, I can't imagine anyone, even NHL players, using the one95 and thinking, gee, this skate sucks, I need something better so badly, I'd pay anything...

People do realize that NHL'ers don't pay a dime for any of their equipment?

All NHL'ers get their skates custom fitted too AFAIk so it doesn't even matter what brand/line they get. And as Adam91 said they don't pay so why not have the best as long as they're comfortable in them, which is the most important part. Cost is irrelevant.

Not like it would matter anyway. If they wanted $1000 skates, they wouldnt hesitate even once to buy it considering its for their profession and that they have more than enough money to buy something like that. If I was making minimum 600,000 i wouldn't think twice to get these skates to at least try them out. lol

I didn't mean literally pay, like you know, I'd do anything for a better skate. Nobody really needs better than the one95.

Why would boeing build the 787? Nobody needs anything better then a 747, right?

You may have trouble envisioning anything better, but in 20 years we'll look back on it like we look back on Microns today.

Actually not really - I work for a NHL team and the majority do, but I have had a few stock skates.

Thanks for clearing that up (JR?). Actually meant to say most but somehow said all.

Either way, as cptjeff said, why stop innovating? There really is no absolute perfection. We thought cell phones were great way back when and now phone's have basically portable handheld computers. Bottom line is innovation helps drive the economy (taking an economy course so have it on the brain).
