Sorry, I'd rather speed dial Chicago and ask about Sharp and Byfuglien then have any of the pieces mentioned above. Known fact that in order to resign pretty much their entire youth core, at least 1 player will need to be moved. Toews, Kane, Ladd and Keith off the top of my head, hell, why not be aggresive and go after 1 of them? The only problem I see is making an offer to fit them..
Sharp/Versteeg ( both have bigger deals )
Byfuglien - I have a huge man crush on him.. 6-3 250.. Can skate, chip in some O.. Uses his body
Campbell - if they'd take Hamrlik ( note: not a knock on Hamrlik, I think Hamr is really sound defensively and last year was just a blip )
Keith - would be awesome but pretty impossible
All those guys play the game hard, put the puck in the net, play team hockey and are good in the room.. Something I find is extremely important after the flushing away off the bad juju in the off season.
I honestly wouldn't say no to Sarich, but not at the expense of Kostitsyn. Even if I'm not happy with his play, he's quite a talented player and I don't want to see the deal even come close to a Niinimaa/Ribeiro deal. 2 1/2 years left on Sarich's deal is definitely a caution flag though.
The only appealing piece in that deal is Moss. Sarich isn't bad, but the team's already got six d-men playing and two d-men injured, all of whom are NHLers; the addition of Sarich would give us nine d-men and several redundancies.
McGrattan - Laraque is a salary dump I guess. Don't really care either way.
To be honest, I'd love to get Moss, but Calgary wouldn't be so ready to part with him; especially if the return is a slumping AKost.
