If people are willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money for a Winter classic ticket, why shouldn't the team offer a high price? They are out to make money. I would buy tickets if I had that money, but I don't.

I love sports. I don't care if I can't afford the tickets to the Winter Classic. That's why I have cable TV.
