Another dream that will not come to fruition. Also where would he fit under the cap?

I want him but i dont think he will fit here. We play an aggressive style of hockey where even our healthiest players take a beating. I don't see him lasting 2-3 weeks.

Wouldn't he have been there and done that already like 3 times? Colorado even with their start probably won't make the playoffs.

I would 100% take a chance on Forsburg! However, we are pressed against the cap so how Gainey gets that one done is beyond me.

Probably means somebody gets traded... (Hmm, who has a brother that's causing trouble throughout the organization and has been demoted to the 4th line himself?)

Forsberg isn't coming back to just play, he wants a cup and that makes Wsh or Phi. Colorado is a natural fit but he's smart enough to know it won't happen for them this year. If he goes to Wsh or philly just be frightened, as for the cap, they'll find a way.

If I could dream.

Frolov*/Foppa/Cam
Pleks/Gomez/Gionta
Lats/Lappy/Moen
Chips/Metro/Patches

Markov/Spacek
Hammer/O'byrne
Gorges/Gill

We may not win it.... but we'll win a couple rounds.

Trade
AKost,SKost to LA for Frolov..... he may be a nutcase but he can put the puck in the net. We're gonna lose these guys anyway so .... buh buh

Why would he sign here? Pretty sure Colorado or Philly would get a longer look..

He's going to sign with the Islanders over us. At least they're in the playoff picture.

Markov's full cap hit counts even while he is on the LTIR. Cap wise, the only thing putting him on the LTIR does is that we can exceed the cap by as much as his 5.75M while he's out. Once he comes back, we need to shed that extra cap hit.

In other words, no, we really can't afford to spend that much money on another player. We'd be way over the cap when Markov comes back. Hell, I believe we are already over the cap with Bergeron.

as far as i know we were roughly 1 mil under the cap (rookie bonuses for price can be put towards next years cap dont forget) so within that space we were able to add MAB but for foppa we'd definitely need more space.

why does everyone who's penciled forsberg into the lineup have him playing center when his last 2 or 3 stops in the nhl he played wing?

Just for the sake of even seeing him in a habs jersey for 10 games, I'd risk it. Frankly I don't think we're winning the cup this year, but a healthy forsberg could change that An unhealthy forsberg means we lost what exactly? Cap? Meh, would rather have a season of Forsberg in a habs uniform even if it's for a couple games, have a serious man crush on that guy. (imagine the jersey sales already)

I wonder why the Habs are scouting him if all of you know better about where he will sign. Do you think the Habs would send someone to watch him if they hadn't contacted his agent first to see if he would play in Montreal ?

Seriously guys !

It doesn't say anything about us scouting Forsberg. It says we're sending a scout to the tournament. Maybe he's there to watch someone else...

Konstantin Korneev
Alexander Perezhogin
Linus Omark
Jan Bulis (haha)
Jiri Hudler
Alexander Radulov
Sergei Zubov

This rumour is nothing.

What young guys? We can hardly make up a decent second line.

Just imagine Forsberg centering the second line. He would make Plek and Andrei better.

To be fair, for circumstances beyond my control I only saw roughly 1/3 of the season two years ago, so I didn't have much of an opinion to forget on O'Byrne. But last year I definitely gazed into his future, and it was bleak. It's one thing to have 'short memories', but another thing not to hold grudges against players, which I don't.

Maybe all the Swedes in our team will convince him...lol

Anyways if he does come back in the NHL it will be with Colorado, Philly or maybe Detroit. That's it that's all.

Forsberg apparently close to signing in the KHL.
