Other Games Around the League

I noticed that we don't have a thread to talk about other teams/games. So let this thread be dedicated to talking about the other games, the rivalries, and much later in the year. Mods can we make this thread a sticky?

11/04/09

Flames/ Stars- Flames win in OT
Sharks/ Blue Jackets- Sharks win in SO
Coyotes/ Avalanche- Avs win.

It sucks that the losing team gets away with a point.

I bet all 6 games to be under the 5.5 goal total and my $10 wager won me $250!!!

Some good games tonight. The Sharks/Wings, and Canadiens/Bruins games were both very entertaining.

Would love to see Anaheim lose to the Preds.

Classic ****** Crawford coaching. I saw part of the third period and all the OT. Stars go into a shell, collapse all the defensemen, and no defensive discipline.

Hate to say it but this was a great comeback by the Quacks. I was going against Turco in one of my fantasy leagues too, so I'm glad he gave up the 4 goals for the loss. Just wish it wasn't the Schmucks that did it.

Crawford was horrible. Just the worst coach for a developing team, save for perhaps Ron Wilson.

Worked out better for us imo (I see the Stars challenging for the playoffs ducks not so much), Stars had the lead and blew it and proceed to do nothing in the 3rd/OT which is weird cause the Stars are HORRIBLE in shootouts....

Look at how many OT losses they have this season already. They can't win an OT or shootout to save their lives.

They used to be one of the best teams in shootouts. How times have changed

WTF was Turco thinking on that tying goal? That Sexton kid was sure riding an adrenaline high.

How in the hell did they blow that game?!? I checked and they were up 3-1 in the 3rd, went to play some Modern Warfare 2 and I come back and they lost... Just stupid. I put all my vCash on the Stars too... >.<

... The Avs are generally the same team they were last season -- only instead of having two goaltenders with save percentages of .899 and .892, like they had last season, they have percentages of .919 and .916. Having that much of an improvement in goaltending has certainly freed up their offense, and raised the team's confidence in their own zone.

... In fairness to Crawford, the plan from the GM was more to finish as low as possible in the standings and obtain high drafts; it wasn't like the team was trying to win in the seasons he was here.

Does anyone know why Niewendyk (sp?) replaced Tippet with Crawford? Was it a personal thing?

Red Wings made Ty Conklin look like Hasek in his prime.

Times are tough in Detroit right now.
