Yup, he shut up and went to the AHL, called up for only a few games in the NHL, and a year later, how does he look out there ?

who cares.

Again, when did I say that ?
Apparently to you refusing to report to AHL and then asking for a trade while threatening to leave for Russia= Shutting up.

Or are you saying he shut up after the trade request, threats and refusal??..

Maybe Pavelec would have helped them last year had he played more, maybe not.
Maybe Sergei would help our team, maybe not. But he can't possibly be worse than Stewart and right now we need all the help we can get. It's still early in the season, so we can afford to lose games. Calling him up today isn't a necessity unless they're sure he's adopted a new attitude. Obviously they don't seem convinced.

But if our mediocre play persists, I'm not fine with sitting between 10th-13th.

Sorry to hang on that one part of your post Kriss but what do you mean it's still early in the season so we can afford to lose games?

Is 2 points now less valuable than 2 points in March?

Yes, 2pts now is less valuable because there's still just a little under 70Games to be played. So your margin for error is much bigger now than it is in March with only 20-15Games left to be played.

You can make mistakes now in hope that you'll be playing a much more solid game at the end of the year.

From a technical point of view, yes 2pts is 2pts. Whether it's 2pts now or in March, it's still 2points. That's why we always hear every point is important. But it's not like in Football where they only play 16GP and a perfect season is a very possible thing.

Games will always be lost in Hockey, you can't win every game. But you're much better off losing those games at the beginning of the year. Even if you go on a 10Game losing streak in Oct-Nov-Dec, you can still bounce back and finish the year strong in a reasonable PO position.
Whereas if you're battling for a PO spot in Feb-Mar, and you go into a 10 Game losing streak, you might just play yourself out of PO.

Yeah, but if you're battling for a P-O spot in Feb-Mar, it's because you didn't win enough games early on.
But I think what you mean is you're better off being cold at the beginning and hot at the end the season than vice-versa. ?
