Pretty much.

But in a Game like this, it gets over looked.

And i'm ok with that.

GO KINGS GO!

I know the "creates room" thing is a bit of a cliche, but god damn Williams does a lot of things that do just that. He always seems to be drawing defenders away from Kopitar somehow and he's been excellent on the boards. I honestly cannot remember him making a bad play 5-on-5 at the moment. Some may not work as he intends, but has he really had any blunders? Could be I'm just forgetting.

Frolov really worked his ass of and dominated down low in the last half of the game tonight. Not so much in the first half, but he was making a big effort to try to take over the game later. He seems to do that a lot more when the game is close like this was for most of it.

I was thinking earlier in the season about going down for this one, but decided not to... Boy I regret it now... Go Kings!

I think you are crazy. He had a decent game (his pass to Kopitar was pretty good)....but I think there were at least 10 other players on the Kings tonight that had a better game than Williams.

i think both he and Brown were very strong away from the puck... you can't get a game like this out of a team without everyone working out there.

remember, Pittsburgh is excellent along the boards. it's always a rough night against them.

And I think you have brain damage.

Williams is everywhere, does very little if anything wrong, and just creates, creates, creates.

got to side with JDM here and below too. Williams looked very good, although his strengths are simply not as noticeable as KopiStar's or Smyth's, unless you really watch just him..

Both got better in the third, but if you isolated Frolov during the first two periods, you'd think the Kings were losing big time!

Last I checked goals were how wins and losses were given out.

And I should have said Handzus' goal was all Frolov, not Stoll's.

Oh, and if I remember right, Kopitar's 2nd goal came off a Williams rebound, too.

A fun game deserves a fun post game article on http://lakingsnews.com

A defining moment.

The definition was dominance.

The moment was special.

Xs and Os are one thing but this game was all about the “outs”. Out skating, out working, out shooting, out hitting and, as it was destined to be, out scoring the Penguins.

Simmonds was getting out muscled most of the game, but honestly, there wasn't a particular player that jumped out at me that consistently screamed fail.

True. Pittsburgh played one hell of a game. They play as a unit better than any team I've seen in the last few years.

They were fine away from the puck, I see what you mean. I mostly mean with the puck. Forget along the boards, Frolov and Brown (as well as Simmonds) just could not seem to handle the puck or a pass for a long time.

My stars of the game were Williams, Doughty and Kopitar, in 3 to 1 order.

And you are right that the team played very well as a unit for the most part. There was a lot of retardation in this game though, but again, credit a lot of that to the Penguins. Like I said in my first post in here, what makes me so happy about this game is that we won, dominated the third period, against a great, albeit depleted team, all the while not playing great hockey for large chunks of the game.

Very little wrong? I saw him muscled off of the puck on several occasions tonight.
