That was a good scrap, even though Clifford got tagged, credit him for getting right back up and straight into the box. Shows how tough of a player he is.

Saw Jordan Nolan in action last night against Windsor.

Didn't take him long to get his game back. He was the Greyhounds best skater in the game. Really the only Greyhound player generating scoring chances (save a few nice plays from Catenacci). His acceleration and first step aren't great, but once he gets going, he's hard to stop. Took the puck to the outside and beat his defender along the wall a couple of times, both leading to eventual scoring chances. On the lone Hounds goal, he made a beautiful pass to a streaking Michael Quesnele on the powerplay. It was a beautiful and hard pass cross ice through two Spits defenders. The only thing he's missing right now is his timing. Had a few good opportunities to score but missed on them as he either failed to get a shot off, or shot it well wide.

I Remember watching Nolan at the Development camp. Needless to say did not leave much of an impression on me at all. Terrible skater, both stride and quickness. His hands were nothing special either. Very marginal player, I dont understand why we even drafted him to be quite honest. He is a big kid, and Im unsure if hes an enforcer with his junior club? Thats the only role I ever see for this kid, and even that will only be at the AHL level.

Haven't seen him play, but just read this interview with Jordan Eberle with a piece of info on Teubert:

Canwest: Toughest WHL defenceman to beat one-on-one?

Eberle: Colten Teubert in practice. I think he probably plays me harder than any guy that I've played in the Western Hockey League.

Good to hear that any word on Nicolas Deslauriers? He has been putting up some pretty good numbers in the Q.

Canwest: You've become quite familiar with Pat Quinn, considering that he coached the Canadian junior team and also guides the Edmonton Oilers (who drafted Eberle). Describe a memorable Quinn line.

Eberle: On an off-day (during the world junior tournament) he told us that we needed to get some sleep and stay off our Sega Genesis.

Canwest: Does Pat know that Xbox exists?

THATS SOME FUNNY ****

Pat probably still plugs in his copy of NHL Hockey every off-day.

Update on Brayden Schenn

A quick update for Kings fans on Brayden Schenn. After a slow start after coming back from the Kings camp he has improved every game. He has put up 27pts in 18 gms. But more important is his overall game is getting stronger. Think his next goal besides helping the Wheat Kings win is making Canada's World Junior Team.

Awesome news!!!

I'm sure he was very disappointed to be sent down after such a successful preseason. Glad to hear that he has acclimated to his old and new teammates and is having a stellar season.

Can't wait to see him in the nhl.

Thanks for the update and keep them coming baby!!!

Kid's gonna be a player--I'm really excited to see him performing so well after getting a taste of the NHL.

Kozun

Now tied for first in the entire CHL for points with Taylor Hall (heard of him?) and leads by quite a wide margin in the WHL scoring race, 9 points. I think we may have something here with this kid. Quite foolish that he was a 6th round draft pick, being passed over for goons that never have a prayer of playing in the NHL. He is on pace for 130 points or something rediculous like that in the WHL, and league that has the reputation of being defensive minded and very physical. Nice job by Deano on this one.

Kozun had a 4 point night last night. It'll be interesting to see if his size has an impact on his success.

I think it's time to head over the CHL board and get some insight on him.

Pat Kane 2.0?

From what I hear, he has a legitimate shot to make team canada at the world juniors.

I think he makes the team next year, hopefully he tears up the World Juniors and Memorial Cup.

The kid can light it up, but he will need heart and tons of determination to make it up to the big league as small as he is. Not saying he won't do it, but he's got to work hard to make it happen

I think Kozun is doing great, I really do. But I made a similar point in the Juniors stickied thread and Sam made a great point. Kozun was drafted in his second year of eligibility. He should have been drafted in '08. His skating is miles ahead of Azevedo's, who keep in mind also led the CHL in scoring. Let's see how he does in Manchester next year.

Yes.

It will enhance his success.

He is so small & fast & quick & slippery on the ice,
no one can touch him.

When tiny
combines
with
ungodly fast
it
is a
good thing.

Hmmm, when I asked you about his skating, you mentioned you didn't know. Now, all of a sudden, his skating is "miles ahead"? You could understand my skepticism no?

In 2 years he can play RW on a deadly
"energy line" with CLIFFORD (LW) and Lewis or Moller.

(Next season he will demolish the AHL).

They say this kid can score on any line
and yet he plays a complete game.

Could he be as good, or better, than...gasp...

Loktionov?

I love these questions.
