it was a public image thing, the league would have had extremist womens groups all over their ass if they didn't do something... I agree it was harsh but not that hard to understand

Henrik Lundqvist will return to nets tonight after a one-game sabbatical. The goaltender thus will be working on three days' rest. Uh oh, can he handle it?

Considering the Rangers next game is next Thursday 11/12 at home against Atlanta,Henrik could play just 1 game in 9 days.

Winger Fredrik Sjostrom was with the Rangers when Avery arrived and had no problems with the agitator.

"He's a good guy, I think," Sjostrom said. "At least, he's put it behind him, the past, and I think we've kind of moved on from that now. It was a bit of a circus earlier, but nobody has been talking about it, so I don't think it's going to be a big deal."

Geez, seeing Avery with the Stars again just seems wrong. Say what you will, I'm glad he's back in NY.

It might just be because we're spoiled with Gaborik and Prospal, but do the Flames' offensive stats look a little weak? Iginla has 7 goals and is leading the team? I guess he is boring. I haven't been watching the Flames at all, does anyone know if they're struggling offensively this season or if the stats are deceptive?

As long as we can be the team that we were against the oilers and not the team we were against the canucks, we have this in the bag. I hope to see Byers throwing his weight around out there, hopefully he can claim his space as permanent Voros replacement. Also, I hope Higgins keeps his new found energy up. Let's go Rangers!

Look for the Rangers to come out flat rounding out a tough West coast road trip. The 39 shots for against the Oilers is a mirage as the Oilers have been hampered by injuries. However, the Rangers could only manage 23 shots against the injury riddled Vanucks and Bruins as well as a season-low 20 against the Wild. Production like that will lead to an easy Flames win tonight.

I hope not. Drury needs to have a complete and utter statistical failure this season. 20-25 points.

Offensive stats look weak?

Calgary: 49 GF
New York: 55 GF

Calgary has played 3 less games, and actually has a better goals scored per game percentage than the Rangers. If anything, where is New York's goal scoring going to come from when Gaborik slows down? Calgary's offense is very good this year.

Iginla and Jokinen had a terrible first month. We got all our offense from the secondary scorers (Bourque, Nystrom, Sjostrom etc. plus Phaneuf has been chipping in). But it would appear Iggy hates Oct because as soon as it turns to November he completely revamps his game. 3 goals in the last 2 games I believe and looks possessed out there. Jokinen is still MIA and looks as useless as ever.

I'm excited to see Del Zotto in person. Very interested to see what this guy is capable of. And of course the whole Avery thing just adds to the excitement.

Should be a doozy!!
