I'm not happy with it either, but it's either him,Latendresse/White/Pyatt. Out of those 4 IMO Lapierre is the best choice.
I didn't include Pacioretty-Metropolit-Moen as I love the way they are playing and don't want to see that line broken up.
Why not Chipchura ? He's improved his skating , big and strong , not afraid to drop the glove's and he has some skill and vision and unlike some who have gotten a shot on the second line he has some real hockey sense .
Whether you're looking to package the K brothers to get some help or not, I think it's high time to try pluging Sergei with his brother on the 2nd line. No secondary scoring idea has worked, and it's time to exhaust the possibilities. Bonus: if they're looking to trade Sergei, he'll be more marketable in Montreal.
Playing natural defensive centers on the wing on a scoring line, is a recipe for failure. I can't blame Lapierre for his recent play, he's put in a role he wasn't cut out for...
Liking those line. Give Andrei another chance and Lap the chance to create something.
Third line is untouchable for now.
I want to see Chipchura back in. Maybe with Pyatt on his left wing. But it makes the fourth line really slow...
If we are in building mode, perfecting the parts around our major offensive players, then I think we need a first-class defensive line. We used to have Jarvis-xxxx-Gainey and Carbonneau-Nilan-Gainey. I propose we try three guys together, and give them 20 games to really perfect their art.
Pyatt-White-Moen. These guys have some speed, are not afraid to battle, and are all hungry to regain possession of the puck when the other team has it.
I also think we should split the four big offensive players, two on each line 1A and 1B. Put Andrei K. with Gomez-Gionta and Patches with Pleks-Cammy.
The fourth line would be Metropolit, Lapierre and Latendresse. This line would be better than almost any fourth line in the league.
My friend went to the practice thing at the bell center, supposedly lapierre pissed off laraque by asking the equipment manager who used the least sticks and the guy said laraque ' cuz he plays the least'. Dunno how well i heard my friend tell the story though, i thought it was funny.
If only Gainey would have given Kovalev an extension to end his career here.... The cap hit could have been low, and we'd have a legitimate top 6 winger to either play with Gomez or try to re-ignite chemistry with Plekanec. Say what you want about work ethic, he is 10x better then any other option we have internally for the 2nd line.

seriously i dont care you plays on the second line anymore its completely useless to talk about it, because we already know the result, it will suck until bobby comes back from sleep and finds a way to bring us a second line winger..
The only way those two were invisible together is if you weren't watching the games. In the rare shifts they've had with one another they've produced.
#1: Those shifts aren't "rare". They have well over 60 minutes (so atleast between 60 and 120 shifts) together.
#2: You're right though, lines comprising both Cammy and Pleks have produced 4 of the Habs' ES/SH goals this year.
I like it. Last time AK was with Gionta and Gomez he had chances and was finding open ice. I found Gio's passes were a bit off that game and Andrei couldn't get a shot off. Hopefully they'll be more fluid this time around.
