I'm surprised to see that OKT could be ready by Thursday, on the other hand is wasn't as bad as it looked and by then it's been almost a week. I'm sure philly docs know what they are doing.

Is there a reason not to trust them?

If he went to a hospital and had his head scanned and they found nothing wrong, and also passed the concussion tests he should be alright.

Unless the organization runs out of water, how do they even get off diagnosing ANYBODY with a concussion.

Bizarre.

or Lindros, or Gagne, or...

i think if the Flyers improved their trainers, and team doctors they would have a legitimate chance year in and year out. Injuries absolutely decimate this team every single year.

They should have a minimum length of time you have to be out if you suffer a concussion. While some are more susceptible than others for multiple concussions, a 2 week minimum shut down time couldn't hurt. But i'm sure the flyers would just call it acute dehydration and skip the two weeks. A solid stretching regiment would also prevent these groin issues. I'm a 300lb guy who can do the splits, and I've never had groin issues because I work on my flexibility a lot and make sure i have a good pregame warmup.

I agree, and I wouldn't mind if OKT took a couple of weeks off, this isn't his first one. I hope doctors look at his history before they put him back on the ice.

Two examples of concussion blows to his head. The last one happened less than a year ago, and at about the same time a kid in the minors up in Canada died after a fight when exactly the same thing happened to him. Tollefsen said he only feels a little dizzy, and everthing is fine the next day. He thinks his head is made of steel, but it's not that simple.

I for one would rather see Bartulis get a shot and suck it up, than see OKT play if he's not ready.

I would love the NHL to make some sort of blanket rule where if you miss a game with a head injury you miss two weeks minimum, but I'm sure someone would end up pushing it to make the very next game (say...4 days later or something), and a bunch of guys would end up getting their eggs scrambled. Maybe they could make a rule where if you can't leave the ice unassisted after a head injury then it's two weeks or something like it.

Yes, he's had several.

That 2nd youtube clip is disturbing, the way he smacks his head on the ice.

I totally agree. All concussions are different, and OKT may very well be fine, but 2 weeks is an overall good amount of timethat should cover many kinds of concussions.

Primeau wasn't a Flyers Medical Staff mis-diagnosis. He got a (single) concussion and suffered from PCS to the point where he wasn't able to return.

i hope OKT sits out, Parent comes back and Bartulis plays instead of Syvret. I'd like to see what Bartulis can bring, which honestly can't be any less than Syvret

I think you'll see Bartulis-Syvret as the 3rd on Thursday. Then the 3rd pairing will be Parent-OKT, just like the plan since game one.
