How to fix the power play

Phase 1 - Collect Scott Neidermayer
Phase 2 - Replace Neal Broten with Parise and Richer with Shanny, and McKay with Clarkie and Albelin with Oduya
Phase 3 - Profit!

Seriously though let's be that team, with that same coach, with a whole lot less Christie Whitman.

This is my argument for both bringing back Shanahan as well as bringing in a puck moving defenseman to address a huge issue.

Im pretty sure Shanny has already played his last game as a Devil.

Acquiring Scott Niedermeyer or any puck moving dman for that matter is more of hopeful thinking than a possible reality. I really hope Lou does though b4 the deadline

I hear Richer has been skating lately... maybe he's available.

So I noticed we got three powerplay goals on Saturday and when I watched the highlights on nhl.com (including the Islanders game) I notice we are becoming more positionally dependable and our powerplay at one point looked almost identical to this setup...as compared to the gongshow it was not too long ago.

We were actually moving the puck and making them chase...Lemaire's style of play has been serving us nicely when we execute, I would love to see our fully healthy skilled players stay in this type of offensively aware mode.

Its too early to tell if it's fixed but the last couple games have shown me something.

I submit this as evidence, our goals start around 3 minutes...watch the positional, steadfast play and the way we possess the puck. The smooth passing and actually getting shots to the net...it works! I trust Jacques to make it happen.

Precisely...look at his third goal here, as well as his nice one he had last week against Buffalo.

If we can continue to use both the "flying v" and "dump and chase" on the pp, it should have the opposition guessing which we will use and leave at least one option open.

To execute a proper flying V we need a black kid and a really fat goalie.

We have a few half black players and haters call Marty fat so we're pretty close.

I think he was referring to the opposing goalie, but I'm not sure.

We've scored 6 PPG in our last 3 games.

Give it a little while, it will start to slump again soon. We've scored well on the PP recently, but I don't think we've fixed the fundamental issues that our PP has, unless Greene can keep up what he's been doing.

My god, it's been so long I forgot how amazing Scotty was in his prime.

Yea, lately. Our PP has been pathetic for most of the season so far.

Not just bad...pathetic.
