So I noticed we got three powerplay goals on Saturday and when I watched the highlights on nhl.com (including the Islanders game) I notice we are becoming more positionally dependable and our powerplay at one point looked almost identical to this setup...as compared to the gongshow it was not too long ago.
We were actually moving the puck and making them chase...Lemaire's style of play has been serving us nicely when we execute, I would love to see our fully healthy skilled players stay in this type of offensively aware mode.
Its too early to tell if it's fixed but the last couple games have shown me something.
I submit this as evidence, our goals start around 3 minutes...watch the positional, steadfast play and the way we possess the puck. The smooth passing and actually getting shots to the net...it works! I trust Jacques to make it happen.
Give it a little while, it will start to slump again soon. We've scored well on the PP recently, but I don't think we've fixed the fundamental issues that our PP has, unless Greene can keep up what he's been doing.
