Second Star - Evgeni Nabokov

Quote:
Second star, Evgeni Nabokov -- The San Jose goalie earned his first shutout victory of the season when he blanked Pittsburgh, 5-0. That capped a week in which he went 2-0-1 and allowed just three goals in 190 minutes -- a 0.95 goals-against average.

Correction, that would be his 2nd shutout of the season.

At this rate, Nabby will be first star by this time next week!

You're right in that it's his 2nd shutout, but the initial tidbit was correct: it is his first shutout victory of the season (the other one came in a 0-1 shootout loss)

I stand corrected! That's what I get for reading things too fast and being quick to defend the Nabby.

Same on TSN.

The team is playing well right now without some key people in the line up. I think their early success now is different compared to last years. Doesn't look like things are coming as easy for them and they are working harder on a more consistent basis. Yes, there's still some breakdowns, but I think overall they are playing at a higher level.

This is a very good team. The best team we've ever had. Sure we can snag a veteran D-man at the deadline, but our forward lineup has never been this complete. That's including players from the minors that fill in for the injured. Every top forward--maybe except for Clowe--is playing to their potential.

Nabby is playing at his best right now.

I can't see next years team being better with the many contracts due.

Right now everyone is playing to their potential except Demers. Clowe has been playing great lately.
