Hockey Tournament this weekend

Got a hockey tournament this weekend, and its going to be pretty fun, high calibre hockey.

$80 gets you 4 guaranteed games plus some beers, all at river cree casino.

We have a team and need a few extra players to round out our roster, we'd like to keep our team in div 1 so we'd be looking for players that are ex-juniour or college players or of that calibre.

If you're interested in more details, PM and I'll get back to you asap.

This tourney is for this weekend (fri 13- sun 15).

I'd love to play, but I'm nowhere near div 1 caliber.

kinda surprised with all the arm chair coaches and GM's that there isn't anyone that wants in on this tourney at this calibre

its even more ironic that a canadian needs a messageboard post to fill a hockey tournament - nevermind the armchair GM's and coaches.

that is even more ironic too! we got 9, we need a couple more to round it out. tourney has 10 teams in it so far, and we've split our regular winter team up for the tourney so we can play against each other as well

didn't think it was going to be difficult to get a few others, most the guys i called dont' want to give up a full weekend too hockey, thought that was really strange! who wouldn't want to get away from the wife and kids for 1 full weekend to play hockey??? am i right?

it's because 932% of the posters on this board never played hockey at anything close to a high level yet they still feel they have it all figured out.

like shooting every time they touch the puck in the offensive zone when on a PP?

if i was more in shape and played at that level i'd ask to join, still have my equipment but unfortunately i have neither. if i were tho i'd qb the pp as i could probably get shots to the net with my wicked wrist shot. like a hemsky off the left half boards.

Don't make fun of the xperts.

Some of us are far too old to play hockey against whipper snappers....

Forty years ago I used to be a decent player. My team mates used to call me Hack & Slash because:

* my skating was suspect at best;

* my one year scoring record was four goals (three of those I accidentally deflected past our own goalie);

* I could always throw the opposition off their game without drawing a penalty - leaving them with aches & bruises to remember me by;

* I could skate just fast enough that the opposing goons could not catch me for retribution...

Methinks it would be best for your team if I did not sharpen my skate blades......

By high calibre do you mean hit everything that moves first and then worry about that black peie of rubber later after everyone is on the ice?

Never forget that black piece of rubber - it highlights the player you can hit without getting a penalty....

When you position your body properly (so the referees can not see), and the butt end of your stick is about six inches out of your glove - voila....
