He wouldn't have said the same thing if BGL was in the line-up.

Reason #105 why it's too bad the Habs passed on Lucic in favor of Maxwell. Oh well

Iginla is the pure definition of captain. Tough, spirited and also an extremely talented player. Favorite player in the west.

Anyways, didn't Plek tell Iggy to "shut his f***ing mouth" or something? That's what I heard but it could of been from another incident that night.

moen could have taken him...anyways you can tell the team was intimidated, we were being beaten all over the ice, we lost most battles in the corner, barely forechecked at all

Yeah, I was kind of wondering about who fights when Laraque is out. Mara could, he's always answering the bell for his teammates, but a defenseman getting sent off always hurts more than a forward, especially now with the two scrubs Leach and Bergeron on D. Moen could fight but I think he's more of a grinder than an enforcer per se.

Still, Iginla's a pretty tough customer and that's a pretty awesome story. Hate it happened to Montreal though. Man, having that kind of player on Montreal would be something!

If this is true, this is pretty sad. Whether you would get your ass kicked or not. When an opposing player challenges the bench, you answer the bell.

Funny thing is that Gainey traded Iginla to Calgary when he was in Dallas

Turned out to be great for both teams,Stars won the cup but the Flames got a hell of a hockey player

'Cause it's coming from Laraque himself. He said that he's going only with heavyweights 'cause the other guys won't go with him and he's not going to get some extra penalties for dropping it and start pounding without the other guy doing it as well.

Laraque believes now that his job is a sideshow to hockey. He doesn't believe in momentum. He doesn't believe in the fact that his job might be about going in the opponent's goalie's face, disrupting him, delivering body checks to the good players since they don't want to fight him etc....

Mr. Laraque is there to protect the tough guys for going after our guys. Example: You can bet that he would've gone after McGrattan after the Plekanec hit. But if it doesn't involve tough guys like that, he said that we have other middleweights guys in our team that will take care of that.

Sorry, but it can't be more clear than that.

Have you seen Iginla fight before? Let's be honest, no one in the Habs line up would have beaten Iginla. Unless he was able to land a lucky shot.

Yeah, that was a pretty fair trade - Nieuwendyk got the Stars what they needed within a couple of years, and then he was flipped for Arnott. Although Arnott left as a UFA. But still, winning the cup was probably worth it.

Wrong, if Iggy wants to go with BGL, there would be a fight. Iggy would fight BGL by the way Q

I used to really like Jerome, even as an Oiler fan, but lately I'm kind of annoyed with with actions while everyone still defends him as pure class. Stevie Y was pure class, Iggie has a way to go. First the Souray incident, then the H1N1 vaccine disaster where he actually said he was high risk b/c he is around kids all day, come on. Now this, now way he does this to a team with more toughness or a heavyweight in the lineup. We know your tough Iggy, but do you really need to intimidate the likes of Gionta or Gomez by way of fighting threats. Loser.

It's only a tactic from Iginla anyways. I'm sure a guy like Ryan White who doesn't get too much ice time but will fight anyone would be happy to oblige Mr. Iginla just to get him off the ice for 5 minutes or more. Mara went after McGratten later on. Who's scarier. McGratten or Iginla. Who do you want off the ice. It isn't that they're pansies. There are plenty of guys on this team who would gladly take one for the team. Iginla said that to the bench when guys can't jump on while everyone else was still in the corner in a scrum. I didn't see him invite anyone after that.

Nice of him to do that when he knows, Laraque isn't in the lineup. I remember him challenging Brisebois last year. So who is the real pansy. He is a tough customer, but not tough enough to challenge the tough guys. Just the Brisebois types and of course players who can't get on the ice. Well the Flames have a couple of days off in Montreal so he'll have plenty of time to go visit the dress shops.

Thank you this is my point exactly. The lineup is full of the same type of players besides Moen, they all talk but do **** all to back up their words.
