So soft, wouldn't irritate your nose if you had a cold.

Yeah I thought so !
But Lucic sure looked tough telling Laraque that Julien was holding his testicles.

Plus the possibility that BGL couldn't stand Komi like others are reporting in the room.
He might have been real happy to see Komi get his ass handed to him !

Point is BGL in the lineup ain't going to stop players for going after some of our guys and Laraque won't do anything cause he hasn't done it in 2 years

Bruins wanted Laraque to play on our top line!!!!! Not have him in the box for 5 minutes

Yeah, that was pretty bizarre. Laraque on the top line.

Hell, I liked seeing Odjick on the top line against Boston in 2002 better.

From an interview about Laraque....

Quote:
He's probably the toughest in the league," says Ottawa Senators enforcer Chris Neil. "He's strong, he's powerful. It's one of those things where you watch his fights, meanwhile, when he's out there on the ice, he's coming after you, so you've got to be aware."

Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla, no stranger to the rough stuff, agrees.

"I wouldn't want to get caught in a line brawl with him," he says with a smile.
Clearly, Iginla would provoke Laraque in a fight....he's not even interested being in a scrum with him....

It says alot about our team when a legitimate star player asks to fight and nobody has the balls to bench him for 5 min in exchange for a copuple of punches.

iginla can fight but he's nowhere near a heavyweight. moen or stewart could definitely match up with him.

Maybe Moen a little more, but Stewart would get it pretty bad by Igginla IMO

After seeing him play friday, I would say he could do 4th line. Tons of energy and went to the next to boot. Reminds me a bit of Chris Nilan (not all the talent , but never gives up). Maybe Fats could take lessons.

Anything can happen in a fight. But I wouldn't put money on either Moen or Stewart if they were matched up with Iginla. He may not be a heavyweight, but Iginla is one tough hockey player.

this team needs a head case
someone who's gonna go out there hit anything that doesnt have a habs crest and not even care who he drops them with...
i think neilson should get a chance at being our headcase

He has 3 young kids...

You likely misinterpreted what he said.

When you travel alot and are in close contact with so many potential virus carriers and you have kids at home, you're high risk

second you really gonna give him slack for intimidating our team?
oh noes big bad iginla scared the wittle habs.
get over it if we had a player like that you'd go nuts.
hockey is about winning, and getting the other team off their game helps win.
You think any of the HHOF habs did not pull stuff like this on ice?
For god sake they were worse back then.

This. Gordie Howe has even been quoted as to the stuff he did in scrums, what with the tongue gouging and stuff. And thats Mr. Hockey for you. And to the guy he quoted...he intentionally had Souray step on his stick so he could drive him into the boards and almost break his own neck right? Come on.

not a guillaume basher here but he shoulda stepped up and taken Iginla's challenge, missed opportunity, he's in Iginla's class, not as good a fighter but very strong and has 20 lbs on him.

Laraque believes now that his job is a sideshow to hockey. He doesn't believe in momentum. He doesn't believe in the fact that his job might be about going in the opponent's goalie's face, disrupting him, delivering body checks to the good players since they don't want to fight him etc....

Mr. Laraque is there to protect the tough guys for going after our guys. Example: You can bet that he would've gone after McGrattan after the Plekanec hit. But if it doesn't involve tough guys like that, he said that we have other middleweights guys in our team that will take care of that.Sorry, but it can't be more clear than that.
What pure heavyweight does what you're saying? You guys are asking for impossible taks because we've been out of fighters for so long people here forgot what there use is.

And to answer the player who's lost respect for Iginla because he intimidated our players. That's exactly what he's supposed to do!!! Intimidation is a big part of hockey, now more then ever since all the teams of the league are almost at equal talent. If the coach or GM isin't smart enough to put players that protect your scorers it there godamn fault, not Iginla's, that's like saying let's only score 2 goals because we're playing againts Pheonix, hockey doesn't work like that, you give everything all the time, and if thatl changes,I swear I'll quit on the sport.

This is embarrassing. We are clearly not a playoff team judging from last night and it's not just a question of gelling.

Yeah and he would have won the fight against anybody on the team as well, except maybe Moen.

Would be damn nice to have that guy a hab!
