Guess that means Whitney's back. Too bad we couldn't send down one of our unproductive bunch instead, I loved the jump that Zach brought to our lineup.

Of course, it's all part of the master plan to get the #1 overall pick.

So with Cam out, and Boychuk in Albany, could even the River Rats beat the Canes right now. Maybe if they sent Sutter back too to make it more fair.

I honestly and truly think that our AHL squad with Boychuk and Sutter could at the very least give our professional squad a run for its money without Cam and Staal in the lineup and Ruutu and Whitney banged up.

The only problem would be the strength of our NHL defense being able to muscle down on the not developed AHL forwards that don't have their "man strength" yet.

Peters in net is better than Leighton. Goaltending would favor the AHL squad, presumably. I feel that Leighton has actually regressed since being our backup and not getting a bulk of game time. He's one of those goalies that needs to start and doesn't have the mindset to back anyone up.

So now JR is saying that if Whitney isn't ready they'll bring Boychuk back up. Why in the hell not just keep him here til Tuesday or Wednesday its not like the Rats have a game before then.

$$$$ - if it saves the team 5 grand to send Boychuk back to the minors for 2 days he'll send Boychuk back to the minors for 2 days.

Under the CBA, I assume you cannot do this, but can Boychuk be "sent down" and still practice with the big club? This saves him the trip down if he is going to just be recalled.

If he stayed here any longer he was all but certain to catch whatever cancer has spread throughout this locker room. Luckily Sutter seems to have built up an immunity.

I would bet dollars to donuts that Boychuk will be back with the team in time for practice tomorrow. Walker's injury didn't look good and Yelle could miss some time.

The real question is who else gets a look? Time for Samson, Nick Dodge or Chaput to get their chance IMO. Maybe Blanchard if we want someone that LIKES to play with an edge like LaRose used to do.

Man, maybe it's because I'm drunk right now, but I swear to God the title of this thread was "Babchuk is sent back to Albany" when I came in here.

And I thought "yes, that's what it says indeed."

It's hard to read when you're buzzed I guess.
