The Canes quite frankly sucked, and against a team like Atlanta, we will struggle without OD on the ice.

Interesting problem isn't it?

I'm as big a Cammy fan as there is, but I'm not sure he and Kopitar would have been a great mix at ES. Cammalleri and Frolov on a 2nd line would be awesome.

Cammalleri on the PP with the group we have now would be lethal

Kopitar looked tired today and he still got two points lol.

Jones is ok.

Nice Game Kings...

I enjoyed this game alot, good action and nice to see our team get a lead then retake it when it got tied. Even on the road, I think the Canes played as well as they could with their lineup so depleted and it got two more hits in the game to boot! But our Kings are just a good team now and it takes a good team playing well to take us.

Nice to see Iceberg come thru and hold them to 2 goals... god knows I was worried he might have a major lapse once Rutuu got that second goal on him. Way to go Eric grats on your first win this season! This should help rebuild some of his confidence too. And I give credit to our coach who I certainly call out enough on other issues for giving our back up another chance. Quick has looked a bit tired of late, I hope TM can be as perceptive in all facets as he was in this.

Grats to Randy (dare I say 'the Magic Man') Jonesy! Nice game and I think with a few more games he will get a better feel for his defensive responsibilities. As some have mentioned if he plays wing Petey Harold can consider joining Bailey as a side kick! Oh Laaaaaay!

It still baffles me how some people still fail to see how much room Williams gives Kopitar and how much he deserves credit for the "new Kopitar."

Kopitar deserves the credit for "New Kopitar."

And stats don't tell the whole story, but...

AK PPG AVG w/ JW in the lineup: 1.57
AK PPG AVG w/ out JW in the lineup: 1.60

Not one word for Frolov yet? Dude was dominant tonight, which makes perfect sense given that not one dressed Canes defensemen could crack our starting lineup.
we were obviously not watching the same game last night. ersberg gets run, drewiskie is so kind to hold onto kostopolus's helmet while he gets up. doughty gets checked a few seconds after he sends a pass through and gets rocked into the boards in his own end of the ice. next was walker taking liberties with doughty in the corner by getting his forearm up in his face, nothing happens. there were numerous other times throughout the night where the kings were tossed around. now i understand these aren't exactly labeled as "runs" per say but they are liberties that are taken which i am fine with as long as there is a response back, there was nothing, except scoreboard. i guess i just want this team to grow a pair but that could be machismo problem i suppose.

First off I have to give tremendous thanks to DaveG a Hurricanes fan from these boards who hooked me and my wife up with some free tickets to tonight's game. He is more than awesome. It is people like him who restore my faith in humanity. Also the Canes fans were awesome tonight and did not give me any crap when I cheered for our Kings.

As for the game itself......It was awesome because the Kings won. I would be lying if I didn't say that had me worried at the beginning of the 3rd period. Simmonds and Jones had great games.....Even though Kopitar had 2 assists he had a very blah game. I was going to criticize Williams game as well until he made that awesome pass to Jones....so I give him a thumbs up. One thing about Hurricanes fans is that they are still pissed at Johnson......everybody wanted him hurt bad......I laughed a lot. Too bad I can't see the Kings back here for a while.
I think they were scared of your mustache....

This ^

I don't like the idea of Ivanans taking up a spot on the fourth line just as much as the rest of you. I'd love to be able to toss out a fourth line of Parse/Richie/Purcell but the bottom line is (and last night was proof) Ivanans serves a roll.

I don't care what anybody says, but liberities were indeed taken last night. Coincidence? I think not.

I've read a few posts here where people have said our team toughness is fine with Simmonds, JJ and Brown. Nothing could be further from the truth. Scott Walker is a 36 year old middleweight and he would have limbed any of those three last night in a heartbeat. Those three aren't going to deter anybody from taking liberties with our players.
