Me and my dad always wonder this also, it's ridiculous. Every. single. year.

Sounds like they are trying to rush him back in.The exact opposite approach the Rangers took with Gaborik.

LGR!!! We need 2 points.
What the hell is with all the 49er fans on this board?

I've seen like 4 or 5 guys talk about the Niners. Note: I don't dislike the Niners, just find it odd that there are so many on this board!

As for the Hockey game....let's hope they don't play like the softies in Calgary. That was horrible to watch.

Im psyched for this game.

Fourth line looks like fun.

Max is one of my favorite players in the league, I wish we could have gotten him from buffalo.

They had alot of bandwagon fans from the championship years, IMO.

They could have signed him as a FA like Atlanta did...but he's been injury prone and really bad on the ice for several years now.

Atlanta notes for you guys....

As you've mentioned, Kovy is in tonight. that makes the lines look like this...

Kovalchuk-Antropov-Afinogenov
Kozlov-white-Little
Kane-Peverly-Armstrong
Boulton-Reasoner-Thorburn

Nick brophy...er....Jim Slater(because if you board him he might piss himself) rides the pine.
Kane is a gametime decision.
Spencer Machacek has been recalled to Atlanta from Chicago to be a replacement.
Hedberg is in net tonight.
Lehtonen shouldn't be back until january.

here's to a good game!

I'm kind of wondering about this myself. Anyone know the reason?

Maybe because it's easier to play more home games before the NBA season starts. That would be my first idea.

It's been discussed quite a bit on these boards. It's because of how busy MSG is in the spring, what with the circus and the NCAA basketball tournaments and stuff.

Yeah, my dad started rooting for them in 1970 as a young boy in Toronto. As soon as I was born I was a 49ers fan. Family tradition at this point. Just trying to defend my fan status, as I agree there are a lot of bandwagoners- and most of those have p***ed out due to the recent failures. I'm loyal through thick and thin. I'm freaking obsessed with them, honestly...

Anyways. This Kovalchuk situation is pretty funny. First he's out, then he's trying to play, then not flying with the team, then flying with them... he obviously can't be 100% so even if he plays tonight hopefully he isn't his usual self.

And I also hate how we always play so many more games than other teams at this point. Gets me sweatin' looking at the teams with so many less games played.

EDIT: Just saw that Kovy is playing tonight... *sigh*.

Maybe they should just give him a tour of the facilities while he's here.

Seriously....why go nuts to play vs the average Rangers unless you think you can go nuts and put on a show, or at the the very least show what a man up kind of character you are....

July 1st Kovulchuk will either be a Ranger or use the Rangers to drive up his price...

Well sought after, accomplished actors don't audition. If the Rangers don't know what he is at this point they're blind

Kudos. But man, theyve had some terrible times lately.

Back on topic - Marty Reasoner still has a job in the NHL?

True.

Afterall, we have held him scoreless or to just one point in 6 of the last 7 regular season games we've faced him. Bluenote's fact of the day
