Plekanec intercepting passes and the other two just cherry picking at the blue line.
Not sure about that,Gomez and Gionta really play well together,I think Martin should play like yesterday on the pp Metro on the wing to Plekanec and Cammalleri and Kostitsyn with Gio and Gomez
So not only do you want one of our best players this season (Metropolit) on the fourth line - you want him to play with Laraque (who was arguably the worst player to play a game for us this year along with Stewart)?
That makes no sense. You do realize that Metropolit has 10 points this year in just 13 games, no?
The only thing I somewhat agree with is letting D'Agostini get a look on the second line when he returns, though returning from injury he'll probably be a step behind for a game or two and then people would be asking for him to change positions anyway.
Honestly, this kid is this year's Kostopolous replacement--he plays his butt off every shift and is fast like the wind! I don't really know where he best fits on the team but it almost doesn't matter; he'll add energy and great fore-checking to any line. I really hope he sticks with the team, simply due to his work ethic alone.
Latendresse needs to be benched; he needs a wake-up call big time. I'm tired of him having one good shift then taking the next 10 off.
Not sure where the fight in Lapierre has disappeared to. He reminds me of how he was playing in training camp 2 years ago and didn't make the team. He got sent down, worked his butt off and came back to the team determined to prove everyone wrong. Basically i think he's gotten a little complacent. I think its a problem of him not being to accept his role on the team as being a grinder/secondary scorer.
I find this generally happens when a team's stars struggle to score and the role players start thinking they can be the stars. They start to move away from the little things they were doing that got themselves into the coach's good books (solid defensive play, forechecking) and try to do to much with the puck offensively.
That's why i love what Pyatt brings to the table--he's playing with the tireless abandon Lapierre and Kostopolous brought to the table last year. This team needs to forecheck the other team to death to win games, especially against stronger teams. Our defence is not strong enough to move the puck quickly up the ice, so a lot more needs to be done by our forwards to keep the pressure on.
I wouldn't put Moen/Metro on the 4th line. Both those guys are performing very well. I'd have them on the 3rd line, and I'd drop MaxPac/Laps/Latendresse over those 2.
I agree, maxpac/laps/lats should be our 4th line. Take the pressure off them and let them grow together, almost as if they were all a line in the AHL. They way Pyatt is working he should stay on at least the top three lines. Put White on the 3rd line with metro and moen; at least he gives a lot of hustle. I want to see guys that skate hard playing the most minutes. period.
Metropolit is helping our HABS ten times more than Lapierre is...right now.
I'm a Lapierre fan, but he's been invisible 8 out of 10 games (the last time I liked his hustle was -sort of- against Calgary, and I especially liked what I saw when he showed some "wood" to Phaneuf after Pleks was easliy tossed to the boards by Dion).
Wished we had a mean s.o.b. like Phaneuf,9th overall,...A.Kosts was 10th overall that year, so there was no way in obtaining Phaneuf (wonder if the HABS would have gone after him with the 9th overall?).
Cammaleri - Pleks - A.Kosts
Pyatt?/S.Kosts?! - Gomez - Gionta
Paccio - Metro - Moen
Latendresse - Lapierre/Chipchura - White
