ye i was a big fan of these lines, with simmonds being on the 4th since purcell on that 3rd line generating good offence. They played bad for 1 period however and got dumped as if TM was waiting for any reason to change them up

I'll pull a page from the Captain Ron playbook and point out that if Quick stood on his head and only let in that kinda fluky first goal, we'd still have lost. 7 goals is bad but 0 goals is an equally important stat in assessing this game.

Tomorrow's big. If they win, we can just shake our heads at this one. If they come out badly, you have to wonder about the mental makeup of the team. These games DO happen to everyone. These games DO NOT derail good teams. Tomorrow will tell us a lot about this team.

That happens if we play just defense and the defense breaks.....
what an ugly one........

I questioned Murray before...........
now i hate him..
Yeah..... Huddy....... a Player doesn't had the tools for the NHL and played in Germany is the best guy to teach someone how to play
the most important special team in the NHL.........

Compon...... really are you even a certificated coach ?????
you PP position looks like you throw 5 dices on a table...
serious...... what brings you to the idea to put the left handed guy to the left side and the right handed guy to the right side????????
I'm pretty sure it's me who is clueless.... so can anyone explain or show me ho to do the Powerplay onetimer, the best weapon in a powerplay, with your backhand ????
You guys are great in youtubing.. please show me a single guys who onetimers shoots from the blueline with the backhand.
May i have to search for gymastics videos, these girls would be flexible enough to do that...

I like how everyone one is talking about the bad goal tending and completely ignoring the horrible defense and the big fat 0 in the goals column for the Kings.

Edit: Damn you Hans!

Boy, isn't that the truth. Neither one of those goalies was able to score a single goal tonight. By the way, a score of 1-0 was all ATL needed to win that game. Clearly it was a goaltending problem.

[QUOTE=Ziggy Stardust;22111176]I would like to take this thread in another direction, since we got to witness something the Kings will never have (Kovalchuk), I figure we should post pictures of something we will never have:

Anybody got a pic of the Stanley Cup?

That pretty much sums up my thoughts. What difference does it make if the score was 1-0, 4-0 or 7-0. The Kings didn't score any goals. They were going to lose regardless. I DO like the fact that the Kings were angry and embarrassed (they should be). The last stinker of the game the Kings had was opening night. If I only have to deal with this once every 20 games, that's reasonable. At least it was on the road. The Jackets lost 9-1 at home. Ew.

I expect a win tomorrow.

I really wouldnt mind him being called up, but just for 1 game to serve as backup so ersberg can play a game in the ahl to get in the zone more.

Not everyone.

our biggest issue: we did not score when we had the upper hand

I say we wait out this road trip before doing anything. Lets see what this team is made out of.

btw, I thought Frolov was our only good player tonight.

I 100% agree. We have effective line combos of
Fro-Zeus-Brown
Parse-Stoll-Purcell

Those guys played great together on a four game stretch. Then the first line was put back together, and TM jacks everything up.

TM cannot stand success. Its' maddening, just maddening!

I didnt get to see the game. Did Randy Jones play his way out the lineup. Or did someone open a spot for him?

On the plus side, we aren't in a 4 game losing streak, we managed to beat a horrible Carolina team.

I think TM just really enjoys watching Fro - Zeus - Simmonds line cycle and muck and grind along the boards creating zero offense.

1. Terry, Dean - this team needs a strappin'. That was pathetic and embarrassing. Every player owes every one of us an appology.
2. I'm so sick of all this damn 'cycling' and 'wrap arounds'. Frolov is REALLY getting on my nerves with his shtickt.
3. Kopitar, Frolov, Brown - stop going wide on EVERY break into the offensive zone. Take it down the middle sometimes. Shove the puck down the goalies throat if you have to.
4. Simmonds - SHOOT the puck and start playing with some snarl and start tossin' the mitts.
5. For the first time this year I think maybe Bernier should get some games. Ersberg should have started this one anyway. Quick is in a funk bad.
6. Parse is not a second line NHLer.
7. Put O'Donnell back in. We're slipping into 'not responding hard enough and fast enough to opponents slappping us around' territory.
8. Is Handzus even awake sometimes.
9. What the heck with the penalty kill and face-offs.
10. We need an entire new fourth line. How about Westgarth, Clune and Cliche. Let's see some really nasty grating on the opponent, especially their stars. We don't need a 7th defenseman in the lineup every night.

11. The first line can't carry us all year. Especially when Kopitar has those games, like tonight, where he's all over the ice, but doesn't really do anything.
12. Brown has to start playing gritty and NASTY. All those fancy puck handling moves aren't accomplishing much and piling up stats for hits is NOT enough.

I wouldn't say anyone on the back end was particularly good, but I think Jack was probably the best back there tonight.

Jones wasn't good at all, and neither were the DDs.

I am just happy that this did not happen 2 nights ago....or I would have probably committed vehicular homicide.

Seriously Im going to pull my eyes out of my ****en head if I see Terry throw Richardson Ivannans and Harrold on the ice everytime the other team scores a goal. They havent scored a ****en goal all season. Ever since the Penguins game this team has been playing like garbage. Hopefully this is the reality check that they need.
