Thanks for the newsroll BB.
And yes, he should be suspended. You have to be a frickin retard to not realize shoving someone in that position into the boards to not knock him out/hurt. I don't like Reddox much but even I felt bad for him. Quinn should keep his word-eye for eye.
I know alot of you are upset, mostly because alot of injuries are hitting the Oil in a short amount of time, but honestly, they were both jostling for the puck, and Reddox was just in a bad position and lost his balance, Macarthur didnt drive his head into the boards, he just kind of fell on Reddox as they both stumbled. I rewatched it several times on my PVR. This kind of thing happens several times per game as players are jostling for the puck, unfortunately for Reddox, this time the worst of the worst happened.
The Glenncross incident deserved the suspension way more than Macarthur does ( i know, different scenarios, both silly, this one unfortunately was a little more innocent). In my opinion.
That hit was obviously a really dumb move. I've watched it a dozen times and I can't see how he didn't get suspended. Other players have been suspended for less. For things which did less harm. For things which were not as dangerous and for things which were not as obvious.
I browsed the rumor mills, and there is little of significance concerning the Oil. Ekl..... or rather, He-whose-name-shall-not-be-mentioned, did report (and I use report in the loosest sense of the term) that the Oilers are involved with either the Ducks or the Wings in clearing up space to move Giguer (sp?) to Detroit. I am not sure how the Oilers can help anyone clear up space, as they are in need of a little clearing of their own.
I was suprised there was a penalty called. Not that it wasnt fully deserved but because there was only 6 or 7 minutes left and usually refs dont make that call late in games kudos to them for having a pair. Shame on the NHL for being nutered.
If you ask me Colin Campbell gets way too much credit for what he does. He is so inconsistant in the suspensions that he hands out and makes it obvious that star players get preferential treatment. Not saying that they are biased against the Oilers just that we dont have any star players and since we are not given good coverage by eastern media the NHL doesnt care as much about the Oilers as say they do the Rangers IMO.
That "hooligan" should have gotten more than just a fine for punching someone. But more often than not our justice system makes no sense.
I agree. I can't believe all you get is a $250 fine for punching out a guy in front of his kid ... oh yeah, and paying for a couple of ripped shirts ($180). Big deal. How do you respect the legal system for this nonsense?
