I could really use a win tonight. One of my co-workers is a huge Sabres fan and misses Briere terribly, so being able to rub this in her face at work tomorrow would be sweet.

A'int I a stinka!

Could really go for a solid win. I've got a massive term paper due Monday, so I won't be watching, but I'll be checking in from time to time.

Any concern that Betts is down on the fourth line (allegedly), while Pyro is now the third line center?

Regards,
Rick

I think the guy made a mistake. That would be foolish to switch those two.

JVR out with flu??

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=506121

Quote:
When the Flyers beat the Ottawa Senators Thursday night, the scoring punch came from the first line of Jeff Carter, who had 2 assists; Danny Briere, who had 2 goals; and rookie James van Riemsdyk, who had a goal. Van Riemsdyk since has came down with the flu and may not play against Buffalo. If not, Riley Cote will be in the lineup and Myko Pyorala will move up to left wing on the first line.

It sucks that JVR's not playing tonight, but come on. Injury prone? He has the flu, for F's sake.

I hope the Flyers shut them out so we don't have to hear the ******* annoyance that is Rick Jeanneret UUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH! By far the most annoying. And I mean during the whole game, even if we can't hear him.

They said he might not play tonight, but is there still a chance? But if you notice, even though he's had all these injuries, he's still come back in a quick enough time, and even played through a messed up pinky and he scored a goal with it.

He's sick. It would be foolish to push the kid through all of this. I personally say let him rest if he is still hurting and has the flu. We gotta think long term. We did fine without Briere and now he comes back and JVR is out. Its fine. If the team ocntinues to play like they have we will still win.

Yeah, they're coming up on a stretch where they play Mon-Wed-Fri-Sat, 2 weeks in a row. If he's got the flu, it's best they let him get rest, and also be able to let his pinky heal further, and be ready to go for the next 2 weeks.

I agree. Give the kid a break, there's 82 games in the season. If he has the flu, let him recover and get his head back into it when he gets over it.

He's awesome, but lest we forget he's still a rookie.

I'd rather them call up a scrub than play Cote but don't take my word for it

Your GDT is far better than ones that I have looked at from other teams. Well done.

I don't think the problem is that we'll be missing JVR, it's the addition of Cote. I'd rather see Laliberte in there. I mean I love the guy, but he just can't play hockey, and his linemates are going to suffer for it too.

Here's hoping he proves me wrong.
