It better, because the Habs need him effective and productive, not twiddling his thumbs in the press box. It's nice to have a lot of rookie grinders, but #84 is a big chunk of the Habs' secondary scoring.

Nice to see Chipchura back in. Although I would rather see these lines:

Moen - Metropolit - Lapierre
Pacioretty - Chipchura - White

But whatever, Latendresse clearly doesn't belong at the moment and seeing the play develop from above might help him refocus and find his game back (hopefully).

Spacek is a game-time decision so our defense might look the exact same..

That line looks awesome. Speed, hustle and defensive awareness. That could be a great 3rd line in the future.

I'm dumbfounded at how much Carbo could get out of:
-Lapierre
-SKost
-AKost
-Latendresse
-Price
who were regular contributors on the 1st place team in the EC 2 years ago.

WTF happened?
And we aren't getting **** out of all the other young players (save for Halak)...

I surely don't want to see Pacioretty on the 3rd line in the future... he should belong in the top 6

Good that Latendresse is getting sit out. He hasn't played 100% this year and Martin isn't going to put up with it. That's a message to the entire locker room.

Hopefully, Spacek will be fine for tonight, our defense is laughable if he isn't playing.

Fixed. Ill always remember Kostopoulos interview this summer on team 990 saying he felt french players weren't pushing hard enough because they knew they would not be benched.

Glad to see Latendresse out tonight. He isn't bringing anything to our team, except uselessness.

Preds fan here.

Nice GDT. It'll be good to see the Habs in Nashville for a change. It's been a while. A lot of Montreal fans have been in our GDT wishing us luck, so I thought I'd return the favor.

Good luck tonight. Here's to you guys scoring 10 as long as we bury 11

Perhabs its the new system of JM.

None of the young guys seem to be doing well with the new system. A. Kosti, S. Kosti, Dags, Lats, Lappy, Pac. Thats 7 young guys who have played well at times and none of them are doing well at all this year.

Makes one wonder? Why not?

Most of Chipchura's minus games came from the very first few, where he had a hard time keeping up for obvious reasons.

White has only played a handful of games.

Also, that line is all energy, which should be the primary role of a 4th line.

Classic case of stats not telling a truthful story, and I'm sure you know it.

I also wonder if this was a lot of change for the younger players on this team and many have had trouble adjusting.

The list of changes in one off season is mindboggling.

-A major overhaul of the roster including the "core" which these players began their career with.
-New Head coach
-new assistant coach
-new goalie coach
-new system

To me, the NHL environment for these young players hasn't been a stable one in their entire career. Many of these guys have already went through 3-4 coaches in a very short NHL career. Could this be why Montreal struggles to develop youth at the NHL level?

You can bury as many pucks as you like, as long as you don't score..

Since friggin' when? The guy is a tool. Big - but doesn't use his size, can't skate/keep up with the play, constantly loses his man defensively, and has all of two goals this year.

The fact that this guy has never played a game in the minors is apalling. I'd love it if Gainey could find a way to make him ride the bus for a bit on a "conditioning assignment".

How many times have I seen Latendresse hit the boards BESIDE an opposition player? It's laughable, sometimes I think he needs glasses. I haven't given up on Guillaume, but he deserves to sit a few...

The defense isn't as bad as they look on paper. Leach is playing well, Carle has been steady the few games he played, Hamr, Gorges and Mara are fine....Bergeron is good for a couple of gaffes per game, but has played better recently, and hopefully he chips in on offense again.

Goaltending and special teams are key.

I predict a win with the 4th line scoring a goal.
