Is it only me who considers Kulemin a solid build-block type guy? Yes he is a third-liner (at the moment) but he fills his role really well and it's nice to have 'our own' talent up and coming.

i pick schenn because i think he's the guy most likely to be a leaf for the next 10-12 years or more. he'll be the captain eventually.

Goaltending is the most valuable position in hockey. A goaltender can make a bad team or break a good one based on his individual talent. As a result this poll is not really fair to Kessel, Schenn and Kadri. It is nice to have 4 such pieces for the future though...

Kessel-Kaberle-Gustavsson rank far ahead of the rest, IMO.

and I'm really not sure which one is worth most. tough call.

Next is Kadri. Next after that is White.

Cornerstones of the team currently = Schenn, Kaberle, and Kessel.

By the end of the year Gustavsson should be on that list, and management wants to include Kadri on that list too.

I wouldn't consider anyone else

I had to go with the Monster.

But isn't it nice to actually have four young players of that quality.

I see the Monster as a future all-star. He will steal a lot of games for us.

Luke will be a commanding presence in our end, taking care of business, neutralizing the other team's top players.

Kessel has great speed and the ability to find open ice, and is a true sniper, with a quick release. A 40+ goal scorer.

Kadri has a beautiful pair of hands, plays well in traffic despite his stature (a little like Dougie), and can bury it. I think he'll be a point-per-game-plus player.

Despite our poor start, there's lots to be optomistic about.

Goalie is the most important building block. This season alone should prove how valuable a good goalie is to a team. Kessel is a close 2nd.

Goaltenders are the key position on any team - players play their style based around how confident they are in their goaltender.

Jonas Gustavsson has the POTENTIAL to be a top 5 goaltender in this league. There is no question he is the most important block we own.

all four will be important, but Kessel and Gustavsson will be the main blocks, great goaltending and a guy who can put the puck in the net.... two things that are hard to find

Phil Kessel for sure. in terms of skill he's up there with Kovalchuk, Ovechkin, Malkin, etc. I am certain he will have a great career in Toronto.

To win the game you save to score more than the other team!

Oh, John Madden you couldn't have been more right.

That's why Phil is the best building block and we must build around him he scores the goals. Although it can be argued that Gustavsson keeps the goals out.

Who cares who the building block is, bottom line is we have to build around more than one player or we suck.

It's amazing to watch how Schenn has fallen from saviour status so quickly.
