Flyers beat the Sabres but Ryan Miller beat the Flyers.

Flyers lose. I switch over to the Bruins-Pens game and the Pens score. Life sucks

Hahah why is everything pens seem extremely douchie to me? Like even the crowd and everybody cheering that knows nothing about hockey minus the 07-08, 08-09, 90-91, and 91-92 seasons.

If Stevens would have put Pyro on Carters line much earlier we may have one this one. He was much more effective in that spot than Powe. It seemed like that line wasn't able to establish control until that change was made late in the game.

Suggested lines for Monday if JVR isn't ready (hopefully that is not the case:

Pyro Carter Briere
Hartnell Richards Laliberte
Powe Giroux Asham
Carcillo Betts Lappy

Good thing we decided to play Cote. That 4:19 of ice time sure was great.

Sixers played last night. Could be the reason.

This is in general not towards you because your not alone in your view of Syvret. I don't understand what Syvret has done wrong, I thought both he and Tollefson have been pretty good. I think Syvret has the potential to be a pretty decent offensive dman. He hasn't been a liability on D from what I've seen. The games where his paring were in trouble seemed more related to Parent being out there. Even tonight the third pairing was a little shaky but Bartulis looked very good, Parent was the shaky one (don't mean to pick on him, I know he's coming off injury).

It's hard to judge with the limited playing time. I've seen much worse out of Coburn and Parent than Syvret. As for Tollefson, I like the physical element that he brings and he hasn't been bad at either end. He does need to control his penalties though. I'm happy with any of Syvret, Bartulus or Tolly but I think Syvret is someone we should evaluate to see if he can do what he did in the AHL at this level. He'd be my first choice to give a try at replacing Carle if he was out.

Well damn... just got home and saw the highlights. A couple of crossbars/goalposts... and had to listen to Jeannerette announce the Sabres goals.

Not at all what I wanted to see.

Be thankful you missed the part where Kaleta came from the clouds.

Just got home, was at the game.

Not taking anything away from Miller, who had a fantastic night. He won the game for Buffalo.

Buffalo collapsed on D the whole time and worked on stopping the cross crease pass and it worked all night, they were constantly blocking passes. I was hoping the Flyers would adapt but didn't.

Many Flyers didn't look like they were skating. Pronger was one exception, he played great and was constantly moving and making good passes. Richards seemed to not show up until the 2nd half. Hungover?

Anyway, bit of a disappointment, offense just didn't get going. They had chances, but chances mean **** if they don't go in. Hopefully they play better come Monday on Schultz Night.

P.S. Congrats with the all-ins. The only reason the Flyers got away on Thursday was because Ottawa is the new definition of suck.

Carter must be the master of sucking but still picking up multiple points in the process. I only saw half the game (just started watching the second half) but this whole thread is full of people swearing at him. It's amusing. I thought he was pretty bad - in fact I haven't been impressed all year - but he's somehow leading the team in points.

My only other conclusion from this game: wearing white at home is stupid.

Refs did a number on us in this one but I still say that Briere did not have to do what he did. Slashing a guy like that while on PP down by a goal? Wtf was he thinking...

That Ennis looks like he is 12 years old. I wonder how big that kid really is.

This. Who gives a **** if Buffalo wants to wear their thirds? This is our house. Put on your road whites and suck one.

By far the three best posts of the thread. The fact that they're in succession of each other makes them even moreso awesome.

Too bad about the loss, but it's one of those losses that I'm generally "ok" with. They played hard for the most part, and just ran into Ryan Miller on a good night.

At least I got to watch the Winterhawks win tonight. Was hoping to come home and watch the Fly guys win, but alas......

That's quite common.

When the Penguins called the timeout late in the game yesterday (vs. Bruins), it was Yeo that drew up the play for the players and got them organized, not Bylsma.

We wore our thirds in Buffalo last week. I guess they had a deal or something.

I just saw the highlights this morning because my damn internet decided to take a dump last night. (not ****ing impressed)

my take on the game

Miller was simply incredible. There is nothing you can do when a keeper plays like that. Hell we did well to get two goals on him.

Emery was at fault maybe for the second goal. It was just one of those freak things where he slipped. Wouldn't have scored if he didn't slip, but its something you can't control.

Carter actually looked like he wasn't drifing on the highlights, but i'm guessing by the comments that he was. If he actually put his head down and started working he would have quite a few points.

Pronger, Pronger and oh yeah Pronger. Jesus christ, the guy is a god damn machine. The hit he lays out on a sabre, the goal and just the solid defense. This guy is going to take us to the finals. No penguin is going to get in the way.

holy ****ing Hot Carle. +- +17, what the hell has this guy been eating?
