I wouldn't mind Higgins back, at least he could play the same speed as Gomez and Gionta, and Gill, well, he's hurt for the moment, and as much as I hate his footspeed, I actually like what he can do within his limits, clear the front of the net... been a while we had somebody willing to do that...

Anyway, all hypothetic, I'd really like Dubinsky back... would be exactly the kind of player we need, but I know he might be 'untouchable'
I can understand that.

There is what 5-10 teams in this league who have a selfimposed "budget" cap lower then the leagues cap. For those teams Rozi could have some value, since he is due to make 7m in real money over the coming two seasons.

What you can say about Rozi is that he is capable of playing a big role in this league and do it pretty well. Though he ain't in anyway or form a good PPQB. Hed be a pretty good fit for like a lowbudget 20th-30th team in this league, but maybe not for a team with bigger ambitions...

Save for a few trades he has already shown he isn't the best in the world when doing them. Or managing assets for that matter. It wouldn't even surprise me if he was shopping them and trying to get anything for them..

Yeah, this team needs more Whites, Pyatts and Lapierres on the top two lines.

God, people are overreacting.

We're at a point where we just can't move. Giving some prospects or picks for proven players may end up biting us in the *** if it we don't start winning consistently.

Then, giving roster players sure doesn't help us moving forward.

We'll have to sit and watch through this for a while until there's an open door.

Umm yeah?

How can it possibly get any lower? There is nowhere to go but up.

Andrei is playing more intense than over half the other forwards are right now and once he gets another goal more will start coming. He's been throwing hits and even backchecking hard like we saw yesterday even though he took a penalty on the play near the end of the game.

Sergei's value will be higher if they ever do call him up from the AHL.

I might be wrong, but Gainey did not propose to Sather to pick between Plekanec or Balej and Sather decided to go with Balej ?

Imagine if he had chosen Gansta, the trade wouldn't look so nice today.

At the time Balej was a much better prospect so there was really no chance Plekanec was getting taken.

I'm pretty sure Marcel Hossa was one of the guys Sather got to choose from too.

By the way, like you said, he got a penalty on the play, hardly back checking

It was a good penalty to take, what should he have done just let the guy get a pass and shoot? Skating full speed back to our zone in order to check/tie up a guy actually IS backchecking.

And i'm "singing his praises" because he's been working harder than many guys on the team lately yet he's one of the guys who gets bashed the most.

It's funny that AKost gets praise whenever he has "an effort" but when Lats and Laps give efforts (and still suck, just like AKost) they get crucified.

Andrei Kostitsyn sucks. Him backchecking harder is good. But I want him to ****ing score. If he scores 25+ goals a year then I couldn't give a **** if he backchecks or not.

That statement is false because aside from a game or two, Latendresse hasn't shown an effort yet this year.

The only reason Lapierre is an NHLer is because of his effort level and heart, aside from his speed its not his skills that got him to the NHL so unless he's giving it close to his best effort he's useless out there.

If you guys are talking about his backcheck that caused a penalty it was he who put himself in that situation.

He saw the Dman pinched and it was his job to drop back to cover him, but he didn't and was forced to skate his ass back to cover his mistake.

The guy is not a smart hockey player, on a team run by Martin he will suck.
