Thanks for the update on the trade.

I'm sure he'll be a great addition to Barrie.

Here's the link to the trade.

But he was solid defensively. Was never beat to the net, was winning battles in the corners. Did a good job on coverage. I even saw him rub out an opposing forward along the boards. That physical play is something you don't see enough of from Brodie. If he can put forth the defensive effort he did tonight...consistently for Barrie...it won't be long before more than just OHL and Calgary Flames fans know who this guy is. Like Crawford, he finished +3.

Brodie is one of the Flames prospects that I'm the most excited about. The guy has impressed me everytime I've watched him play.

Thanks for the info on the game. I wish I could have watched it.

I don't think he'll ever been a power forward at the NHL level, because he doesn't really hit people or use his size in that way, but as an offensive forward with size and soft hands, he still has a great future ahead of him. If not for a few nice saves from Bryce O'Hagan, Nemisz would have definitely hit the score sheet.
When the knock on him was his fitness and skating I knew that the only reason he was being called a power forward was because of his size, not because of the way he plays. He had a pretty big wake-up call that first camp where he was near the bottom (or at the bottom, I can't remember) in the fitness testing so its good to know he's showing noticeable improvements.

Thanks for the update Brock. Looks like Barrie could be a team to beat with the additions of Brodie and Crawford. Like SR I've been impressed everytime I've seen Brodie play. The move should be good for him hopefully.

AIUI Barrie is already the team to beat in the Eastern Conference, so Brodie could very well participate in a long play-off-run, which can only help his development.

Nick Larson, Notre Dame, 6GP, 0P
CJ Severyn, Ohio State, 9GP, 1G,1A
Jordan Fulton, Minnesota-Duluth, 11GP, 2A

Marvin is the most confusing to me. After a very solid year last year he seems to be struggling big time. Wish I knew why, but college info is so hard to come by.

Has he seen much time in the SEL though? He is 20 now, so his time to get up into that league is starting to close in on him

Nemisz had a goal against the Russians tonight in the Super Series. Didn't get to watch it unfortunetly. Brodie will be playing in the 2nd OHL game on Monday.

Ya unfortunately did not see it either, not even sure if it was broadcasted out west. Saw Nemisz's goal on the highlights, nice wraparound. Only bodie playing the second?

All games have been on sportsnet. Pretty sure it is only Brodie on Monday. Don't think Nemisz is playing in it.

Anyone have any online feeds for the series...temporarily, I'm without Sportsnet.

Thanks

It was a nice wrap around goal IIRC. He looks like a keeper. Im still holding out and hoping he develops a mean streak. He could be fine as is, but he could damn good if he uses his size better.

Just a tidbit i caught from watching a "behind the scenes" of the 07 draft with Mikael Backlund.

He played in the Mac tournament in Calgary and won MVP. While staying in calgary he stayed with a family who he still kept in touch with after, and the day before the draft he told them he wanted to be a Calgary Flame, and he even had a Calgary hat before he was given one for being drafted.

Just something i thought was cool.

You can try this site tomorrow night. www.atdhe.net May not have it, but they have most games so hopefully they are broadcasting it.

Ryan Howse named player of the week in the WHL. 3 goals 4 assist and a +5 rating in 3 games during the week. He's having a real solid season so far.

He is a sniper, in the Flames prospect camp he amazed me with how quick he gets his shot off and how accurate it is. Haven't seen him play but soundds like he's really picked up the rest of his game this year which is great news, kid could be a steal

Yep kid had a fantastic shot. Definetly the one thing I remember about him at the prospect camp. I'm hoping to catch him when they come play the Oil Kings.

In other related prospect news both Nemisz and Brodie had an assist in the OHL's victory over Team Russia tonight.

For Wahl to date his stats are 24GP 8G 20A +9 27PIM.

Wahl has been playing lately like a person who would rather pass the puck than shoot it. He's on the top line with Kyle Beach who is basically the Chiefs goal scorer. It Wahl would just shoot the puck more often he would be getting the goals as well.

I'm pretty sure he will be getting an invite for Team USA for the World Jrs. He's been playing like a man on a mission as of late. He's digging for pucks, making open ice/along the board hits, and using his speed. He's a blast to watch.

Here's a schedule of the Chiefs upcoming games.
11/27 at Tri City Americans
11/28 vs Regina Pats
12/4 vs Seattle Thunderbirds
12/6 at Portland Winterhawks
12/8 vs Prince George Cougars
12/11 @ Chilliwack Bruins
12/12 Swift Current Broncos
12/15 @ Seattle Thunderbirds
12/16 vs Portland Winterhawks
12/18 vs Seattle Thunderbirds
12/27 vs Portland Winterhawks
12/28 at Portland Winterhawks
12/31 at Tri City Americans

Anybody catch the prospects game last night? It was on so late, can not even blame anyone...check the stats before I went to bed, and Bouma, about halfway through the third, had recorded 7 shots on goal already. 7!!! Much more than anyone elses
