It only took Parise 2 games, against Pronger, to figure out why you don't want to piss him off. The first game in Jersey, Parise was getting awfully chippy with Pronger, as he started out tonight, but Pronger decided enough was enough, and hit him the crosscheck to the neck or back, and he flew into the boards.

I saw Timonen and Giroux each hit Parise over aswell. He's very small

I've been saying this for years. Easily one of the biggest ******* in the league hiding behind that long visor.

Thoughts on tonight:

Great team effort. Played well defensively with the lead, took advantage of Brodeur's mistakes, everyone was sacrificing their bodies to block shots. Awesome.

Horrible reffing. Just horrible. How can the team that dominates get so ****ed in the PP department?

Emery is looking fantastic lately. I fear a backslide coming up soon.

Parent with a giant middle finger at pikachu was awesome. Great game.

Wish Pyorala could finish...he's the new Thoresen. That line was great but between he and Hartnell, there's no one to really finish with regularity on that line. Richards woke up this game and was easily one of our best players...finally.

I can't wait to see what Betts and iLap can do for us in the playoffs. Players like that are so valuable.

Wish we had efforts like that every night.

Personally, I thought Coburn had another bad game.

Parent was great positionally as always, but it's always an adventure with the puck on his stick. He just seems to get nervous and overthink. He needs to realize he is plenty talented enough to take his time and make the right play.

For example, I'm thinking of one icing tonight where Bartulis crossed it to him, no forward was open, pressure was coming on Parent and Parent threw it down the boards (kind of to where a forward should be, but there wasn't) and it was an icing. IMO, he should have curled back, and let a forward or Bartulis move for him so he has a pass. Or set up behind the net...that's why it's there. Maybe this is just the roller hockey in me though.

No. It's Pow by Graham Central Station. I had the idea the other day, and they already played it at the game.

Really happy with this game. Remember Pronger's comments from the beginning of the season about losing multiple games in a row? This was a recipe for that. Two games in a row against two pretty good teams with excellent goalies. The Flyers weathered the storm tonight and shut them down toward the end. I'm starting to believe more and more in this team when we have a lead.

The reffing was atrocious. I can't get over the fact that they called Richards for that trip. Easily one of the worst calls I've seen in the NHL, and that's saying something.

A little history. Colin White wears the visor because he's legally blind in one eye, having the right eye blinded by a stick. If he took a stick, puck, elbow, flying hot dog, etc.... in the other eye, he would be completely blind for life, and wouldnt really care about not being able to play hockey at that point. That's why he wears the visor, he isnt "hiding" from anything.

What call did you think was bad? I agree the reffing was terrible, but in the other direction. I thought the Flyers could have been whistled for about 7 penalties in the 1st period. The rest of the game wasnt so bad, but the 1st was terrible.

You apparently missed the 3 penalties the Flyers got in a row to help the Devs get back into the game (Coburn's call especially which started everything), or the non-call on Rolston taking out Timonen trying to get to the puck.

I dont recall the call on Coburn, but the Rolston one was obvious. It was completely unintentional, but that's completely irrelevant. His stick got tied up in Rolston, which brought him down. That gets called 10 times out of 10.

Curious, has Emery been playing this well all season or did he elevate his game a bit last night?

I know his numbers are great this year but I haven't seen that many Flyer games this season.

I was very impressed by his control and demeanor.

Other than a sloppy game vs. the Penguins early in the year, Emery has been solid for us thus far.

No complaints.

The Washington and Pittsburgh games when Emery let in a lot of goals was mostly on Coburn.

The devils were really pressing last night though, I hope we dont give up that many chances every game. Emery's glove was hot last night

And Opy, I have played xbox live with irish, JLhockeyknight, Pika, and a few others who have heard my voice

Not going to argue about penalties with you...completely pointless activity.

White still plays like a *****. Goes after non-tough guys in corners and after the whistle knowing he's not going to drop the gloves because of his eye (which I did know about) - so yeah, he's hiding. It's an excuse to play like a *****.

That's all I'm going to say. I know you'll keep coming back.

True enough - I can drive to Halifax faster than I can drive to Dryden.
