Just hope that his confidece doesn't get shaken too much. When he's down on himself, my word is he bad. Not that he's alone amongst goaltenders in that department, but the worst part is that he just can't seem to get himself out of that kind of a rut (he was in one for about three years with the Penguins), and his confidence and mental game gets even moreso shot to pieces.
Nevertheless, he was really good last season with the parent club. I hope he does well, he's a good guy and he has NHL talent.
I would go as far as to say that he could do well in the NHL with the Leafs. They will provide a stable steady winning environment that the Penguins can't. They also will provide a much better defense. And offense. And special teams.
aubin is a nice goaltender...watching him in pittsburgh the last 5 years or so, he was once touted as the goaltender of the future, after his solid rookie campaigne in 2000. like clefty said though, he tends to put himself into slumps, as he cannot seem to forget bad games he has, and that was largely his downfall in pittsburgh. in all reality though, he would likely still be there if it werent for the fact that we have a surplus of goaltenders now (MAF, Caron, Chiodo, even Sabourin).
anyway, i wish him the best, and he is without a doubt a solid #2 goaltender...possibly a #1 if he can shake his mental issues.
