My guess is the idea to hold a camp to finalize the roster is Blais' influence, as he favors the Canadian model.

I remember reading and then posting about that in our Evaluation Camp thread but then hearing nothing more about it. I'm glad they're actually going through with it, and I agree with you that this idea is all Blais. (I frankly don't have enough confidence in the USA Hockey head honchos to do it on their own.)

Some more notes:

- Tom Ward, director of hockey and head coach of the boys' prep hockey team at Shattuck-St. Mary's High School (Minn.), has been named an assistant coach (the other being Mark Osiecki, assistant coach of the University of Wisconsin men's ice hockey) for the team.

-The U.S. exhibition game against North Dakota will be broadcast on tape delay Dec. 20 on the NHL Network (U.S.) at 12 p.m. EST

I'm upset that Wahl wasn't invited to the camp. I'm furious that Emerson Etem wasn't invited. But this is nothing new for USA Hockey. I'm assuming not many are with me, or more likely just don't care because they don't follow the WJC, judging by the lack of banter on this thread.
