New York Rangers All-Decade: Worst of the Worst Defense (vote 3)
So the tiebreaker gives a narrow victory to Guy Hebert for the backup goalie spot. With that we have Mike Dunham and Guy Hebert as our 1 and 2 goalies.
For defense, the minimum games requirement was set to 25 regular season games. I have deemed 18 defensemen worthy of being put up for vote, so we will do two rounds of 9 defensemen in which the top 3 from each group will be selected to the roster. From there we'll make the pairings.
Of course he's on it. How could we possibly do this without him on the ballot?
That's part two, so anyone inquiring about any players not on this list should look at this one. Ufortunately, greats such as Darren Van Impe and Jason Doig had to be left off due to the 25 game cutoff.
He wasn't terrible. He'd be under the category of players who failed to live up to the hype.

BAD: These defensemen were just terrible. Goals seemed to be guaranteed whenever they were on the ice. See: Igor Ulanov, Rich Pilon
USELESS: These defensemen were picked up to fill a spot. No one expected anything from them, and they didn't give us anything. They didn't necessarily suck, but they didn't do much that was positive either. See: Joel Bouchard, Sylvain Lefebvre
LETDOWNS: These defensemen were SUPPOSED to anchor our defense, and/or provide offensive support. Usually former stars who showed up here for a paycheck and took a mental nap. See: Vladimir Malakhov, Sandis Ozolinsh
I think too many people are being swayed by the letdowns, or looking back and expecting the useless players to have actually contributed.
EDIT: Tom Poti should be in his own category. He wasn't very good, but he wasn't bad. But he started in a rough spot because a TON of fans were pissed we traded Mike York for him. Even though York turned out to be more useless than Poti overall, he was very popular here before he was traded.
