List of Cavaliers-Jackets conflicts

As a service to those in the Northeast and related areas, here are days of conflict between the Cavaliers and Jackets on FSOhio this season.

This is subject to change and is based on FSOhio games listed for the CBJ on the CBJ's official website, and the FSOhio games listed for the Cavs on ESPN.com.
  • Wed, Oct. 28: Coyotes-CBJ 7 p.m., Cavs-Raptors 7 p.m.
  • Fri, Oct. 30: Penguins-CBJ 7 p.m., Cavs-Timberwolves 8 p.m.
  • Sat, Nov. 21: CBJ-Predators 8 p.m., Sixers-Cavs 7:30 p.m.
  • Sat, Nov. 28: Flames-CBJ 7 p.m., Mavericks-Cavs 7:30 p.m.
  • Wed, Dec. 9: Panthers-CBJ 7 p.m., Cavs-Rockets 8:30 p.m.
  • Tue, Dec. 15: CBJ-Wild 8 p.m., Nets-Cavs 7 p.m.
  • Wed, Dec. 23: CBJ-Stars 8:30 p.m., Cavs-Kings 10 p.m.
  • Tue, Dec. 29: CBJ-Islanders 7 p.m., Cavs-Hawks, 7 p.m.
  • Tue, Jan. 19: CBJ-Flyers 7 p.m., Raptors-Cavs 7 p.m.
  • Sat, Jan 23: CBJ-Wild 9 p.m., Thunder-Cavs 7:30 p.m.
  • Tue, Feb. 2: CBJ-Avalanche 9 p.m., Grizzlies-Cavs 7 p.m.
  • Sat, Feb. 6: Sabres-CBJ 7 p.m., Knicks-Cavs 7:30 p.m.
  • Sat, March 6: CBJ-Sharks 10:30 p.m., Cavs-Bucks 8:30 p.m.
  • Fri, March 19: Wild-CBJ 7 p.m., Cavs-Bulls 8 p.m.
  • Fri, April 9: Red Wings-CBJ 7 p.m., Pacers-Cavs 7:30 p.m.

Additionally, here are two days of potential conflict, should the Cavs have a multi-OT or long drawn-out game:
  • Mon, March 8: CBJ-Kings 10:30 p.m., Spurs-Cavs 7 p.m.
  • Sun, March 28: CBJ-Blackhawks 7 p.m., Kings-Cavs 3 p.m.

Those who regularly get the Cavs over the CBJ in days of conflict, with no benefit of an alternate/overflow channel, should mark these days on the schedule and be prepared to take appropriate action.

That's actually better than previous years, but still not good enough to make me buy cable again untill one of those teams is off the channel.

Those in NE Ohio need to get ATT Uverse to avoid conflicts. They offer FS Ohio Cincy and FS Ohio Cleveland.

My channel guide has the Jackets and Cavs scheduled to be shown tonight.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm looking forward to watching the Cavs play this season at least on the days where there aren't hockey games on. Cavs have a great team and a real shot at the NBA Championship this year. Ring for the King.

If I added that up right, there are 15 direct conflicts and possibly 17.

Fortunately I live in Columbus, but this still ticks me off because I don't want to see diehards not being able to watch the Jackets and the Jackets not marketing their product to the great State of Ohio.

Moo, I know you said there is no way around this. Skraut, I know you posted that youre not buying cable, but would Center Ice help this cause for you two?? Im not sure if it would, but there has to be some way around this . . . . . right?

Cavs do as well in Columbus as the Jackets do on TV ratings according to Hooley today. That was amazing to hear from my perspective. I didn't think in a town like this that there would be almost no distance between the closest NBA team and the local NHL team.

TWC's channel guide says the CBJ will be on in the Dayton area.

Two different segments of the population, I'd presume.

That said... it's according to Hooley.

With the recent Braylon Edwards alleged assault still in the news, I thought this thread perhaps may have been about Fox Sports reporting on surprising disputes between Cavs and Jackets players in recent history.

Needless to say, I was quite disappointed to find out it was about the television channel itself.

I don't care how great they are; I don't like the sport I'm not going to jump on a bandwagon of a sport I hate just because they are good

As someone who has moved out of Columbus, I don't expect free Blue Jackets on the TV anymore. Don't know why anybody else would.

Center Ice is great. Exposes me to a bunch more hockey. For years I resisted, fearing I'd watch too much. Alas, that's true

CI also saves me thou$ands of dollars a year in season tickets.

When I move away (hopefully next summer/fall) I'm just going to get a subscription to whichever streaming site has the best feeds AND the ability to watch games (not just highlights!) after the fact. Depending on what happens I could be living anywhere between 2500 miles west to like 4500 miles east of here

This definitely sucks.. but I'm not sure how anyone can be surprised. It's kind of expected IMO.

The Dispatch had an article in the paper last Wednesday (before the Cavs pre-season game at the Schott) and it said the TV ratings for the Cavs in Columbus is higher then 13 NBA teams draw in their own home markets.

With those statistics, it makes it hard to believe that the Cavs don't easily outdraw the Jackets even in Columbus.

If you're getting the Cavs game, and you have Center Ice, see if you get the Phx feed on CI. It's the first time this has happened for me.

I'm in Cincinnati and I'm getting both. Though the Jackets are in SD, which is really depressing.

I recently got UVERSE in Akron and I get both the FSOhio Cincinnati and the FSOhio cleveland feeds. The Jackets game is currently on the FS Cincinnati feed.

Worth considering.

Hey just a suggestion, but would the mods be able to sticky this thread? It would really help prevent the dashing of hopes up here in the north

I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that there are many natives of Northeast Ohio over the years that have moved to Central Ohio. The Browns, even with as crappy as they are, still are Channel 10's number one choice on Sunday's. The Cavaliers, to their credit, have two big draws that get casual fans everywhere watching.

USUALLY, but not if the Browns suck and the Bengals are good.
