for the time being, he has been hot, has us on a winning streak, and Ellis just cant string together 3 strong periods of hockey in a row

Im upset that the officials arent calling more hooking and holding. I just know they are gonna whistle us for something tacky here towards the end.

I don't think we're getting 1 past Brodeur. Happy for the point.

Ughhh i don't even know how to respond to this...Yes, there are players who are considered the starters for the season. I'm sure goalies like Luongo, Brodeur, and Lundqvist all see themselves as the "starter" for the rest of the season. I can't see them losing their starting position to Raycroft, Danis, or Valiquette. So this is the essence of my question... you guys have been running a tandem so i was wondering if he had sort of separated himself, seeing as he has been playing well.

Seems like everytime someone on this team puts a couple games together and looks like they might be "the guy", they fall on their face and then the other guy is "the guy". It's weird, I can't remember it ever happening like this for this long on any other team. They have each been "the guy" twice this year already.

The Preds have now beaten the top two teams in each conference back-to-back. I think this means we're now the best team in the league. Right?

No, but we are arguably the hottest. The only team with a better record in their last ten games is the one we just beat.

Before tonight's game, Pred303 pointed out on the main boards that this team was 8-0-0 when scoring a PPG and 7-1-0 when scoring the first goal. After tonight those stats go to 9-0-0 and 8-1-0, respectively. Numbers that certainly won't be as lopsided as the season progresses, but do give you a good idea as to what this team needs to do in order to remain successful.

I can't remember the name, but it's by Swedish metal band Archenemy. I dig it as well.

Wow, that probably was the most entertaining game of the year for me. Brodeur up close, Tootoo got under Peters' skin probably more than anyone in the last two years, great effort and confidence, world class saves by Pekka in the shoot-out and the the shoot-out winner.

Kudos to Erat for skating harder than anyone the entire game to get back on the bungled OT play. Also to Joel Ward who was a beast tonight on the puck. The guys behind me (Jersey fans) couldn't stop talking about him (who is that guy????).

Fascinating to listen to Trotz on the way home talk about watching tape with Korn before the game to identify Brodeur tendencies in the shoot-out. They picked Erat because he has both a forehand and backhand move, told him to use the forehand move and that Brodeur would drop his knee.... and he did. Point awarded to Mitch Korn with an assist from Trotz; that is good coaching there.

NJ is the most structured team in the league probably and they played their system to a T tonight. They are a very, very good team. This makes the victory even that much sweeter. Even with NJ playing a very good game we still found a way to get it done. Right now everything is clicking. Goaltending? Peks is playing well. Defense? Everyone is playing well. Hammer and Klein have stepped it up big time after horrid starts. Forwards? We are rolling four strong lines right now. Santo's and Horny's line is lagging a bit but they will pick it up. I noticed Trotz switched it up and put Thurresen with Santo and Erat with the Goc line. The Goc line pretty much became the third line tonight.

Overall I am very pleased with the team right now and now can only hope for consistency.

Congratz on the win guys. NJ currently has a lot of injuries though, we are missing our top 2 D men and a few of our forwards. We have like 5 rookies playing in our lineup right now, one that just got called up playing tonight on D. Elias just got back from an injury and he's still not 100% yet.

However, Erat made a nice move there on Brodeur in the SO, can't complain about that.
