Dubinsky had his cast removed

I didn't see this anywhere so

The cast is off broken right hand of #NYRangers' Brandon Dubinsky. He is now wearing a brace.

It will be two weeks tomorrow Dubinsky broke his hand. We heard 3-4 weeks and 4-6 weeks. Another 2-3 weeks for Dubinsky. Probably.

Hopefully he doesn't rush it.

Andrew Ebbett was placed on waivers on today by Chicago. Natural center. $487,500 cap number. Had 32 points in 48 games for Anaheim last season. The Rangers are playing 2 wingers at center and have Voros taking up a roster spot at $1 million.

Yeah I imagine it'll be another 2 weeks before Dubinsky gets back into the lineup...no cast is great but it's not fully healed

32 points in 48 games for less than half a million? Are you kidding me? We gotta take him!

Ive never broken a bone (thankfully), but I remember in highschool when someone broke something they had casts on for months, even in Uni you'd see someone in a cast for months. Ive been wondering about this for a while now, and how can sports players heal so fast? sometimes you see guys with casts on for a week and then they're fine. and they say they're fine too, not "well its broken and Im just going to play with it anyway". Also, if it is broken cant you like..die from marrow leaking into your blood stream or something? (Im no doctor, as you can probably tell from that last statement)

Ebbett's small but a good faceoff guy and an energy player. He's not a long term solution but he could be a short termpatch.

Personally, I think people that play sports in general must be using steroids during an injury to help the body heal quicker...only explanation i have for it to be honest with you.

I wonder if they get surgery and get those casts that break down over time implanted.

Don't forget, Ebbett was waived for a reason. He wasn't exactly tearing it up in Chicago

lol Yeah. Maybe Chicago wasn't the place to be for him. If Sather takes him, New York might be the change of scenery he might need and Torts might be the coach to light a spark... Never know. We'd have nothing to lose in picking him up, in my opinion.

Andrew Ebbett is listed at 5-9, 174 lbs.

Not exactly what this team needs right now.

While size and weight is normally evidence to what a player brings, both Callahan and Avery are about that size.

Ebbett's season last year may have been an anomaly but he wouldn't be a bad pick up to test out for a bit.

hes exactly what we need more of.....

a fringe offensive talent whos undersized and is best suited on the 3rd line.

perfect.

I agree, pick him up for cheap, waive Voros and make a statement that changes are going down if they don't snap out of this crap streak

The Rangers need a spark/offense. The Rangers schedule has been their friend in the last 2 weeks. If they win tonight, they are 2-2 since losing the 2 two centers. The schedule gets tough after tonight and they will need another center to hold the fort. Dubinsky could be out another 2-3 weeks and who knows when Drury will return. He just started his off ice work yesterday. Ebbett is group III after this season. He makes no money. If Ebbett doesn't work out,put him on waivers. If he clears,Hartford gets a replacement for Tyler Arnason. He isn't the long term answer but if he can provide any offense if will be more offense than Higgins has generated as a center. Short term band aid. No risk.
