Jail sentence after a normal hockey fight!!?

The swedish tier-4 hockey player Tobias Dahlstrom got a two month jail sentence for what seems to be a normal fight in a hockey game. The guy he fought wasnt injured and continued playing in the game after the fight. The prosecutor said he wanted to make an example out of Tobias, and said that no sports athlete is above the law.

After an appeal the jail sentence was reduced to "villkorligt" (what is it called in english?) and a fine. So far the case has not been brought up in the higher instance.

Wtf??????????

Is there more to this story or is swedish hockey heading towards its doom?

We all know that sweden is disgustingly pk, but this?

Ridiculous. Are they going to lock up players for hitting as well? Because you really can't do that on the street either. Imagine you walking down the street, with your head down, texting a friend. Then imagine me coming out of nowhere and going Scott Stevens on your ass.

This epitomizes much of what is wrong with Swedish society.

Well, if you scroll down and read the commments on that article. Some of the ppl who has commented say that it wasn´t a fight, it was one guy who did all the fighting. And that guy have been in trouble with the law before.

Don´t know if that´s true. But if it is, it sure explains alot.
