This is one of those games in which the Kings are at serious risk of being pushed around from start to finish. They need to come out banging...

season tickets? yes, i would suck. but im playing playing the saturday game odds here and my odds from last year when i showed up for the games, i usually went home unhappy and much more broke then when i showed up. i appreciate your honesty but i'll stay at home and watch it in HD today and relax.

hey guys i have 2 questions for you (just out of curiosity)

1-let's say Doughty is willing to take less money for a lengthy contract in return (because the Kings is his fav team + nice weather, and let's say he's convinced that the direction LA is going is ideal for him) so he signs a 4million/yr for 10 years though.

would you do it? i mean, given that we see he constantly improves and that he is a valuable (safe bet) type of D i.e. Niedermayer, Pronger, etc

2-Which 2 Ds would you drop (weakest links according to you) in return for 2 former Kings; Grebeshkov & Gleason? Do you think that either Gleason or Grebeshkov are better than any of our core 7 Ds?

I would give Doughty any contract he wanted. It's a good thing my name isn't Solomon.

Have to imagine Mike Green will be the model if they go for the mega-long deal. Or perhaps whatever Keith's contract ends up being since it will be signed in a closer NHL economy.

Were you trying to use Slovenian? In that case:

"Kralji bodo zmagali to tekmo!",
or you could use;
"Kralji bodo premagali Ognjiče!" (Kings will beat the Flames).

I don't like Grebeshkov despite his point total. I'd drop Sean O'Donell for Gleason. Gleason gives us the same attributes as SoD in a younger body.

1. I would do it but I don't think Doughty will.

2. I'd drop any two of the following: Jones, Drewiske, O'Donnell.

I'm not a fan of Grebeshkov and wouldn't really want him back but I'd want Gleason back. Gleason is better than the majority of our d-men.

The Hawks just softened the Flames up for us, now it's our turn....

Kings 8
Flames 1

Raitis Ivanans with 4 goals, Brad Richardson with 3 and Peter Harrold with 1.

If that were to happen, Raitis Ivanans better retire after the game because he will never have a better game in his life.

He's a goal scorer, he's just snake bit right now. Once he puts that first one in, they're going to start coming in bunches.

He's not a goal scorer like Ken Belanger was a goal scorer.

You make that deal at the drop of a hat. I think Dean would have reservations, but you can't say no to that steal. I am sure the management, if Doughty maintains his play and pace now throwout his ELC, would approach his contract in the same manner as Kopitar's. They will be looking at something $4-5 million for the better part of a decade. I would guess $5.25 million @ 6 years if Doughty can finish this and next season in the 50-60 point range.

Anyone else notice the new little red siren lights they've put up circling the upper bowl at Staples? It's a nice touch for when they score goals.
