Ebbett to Minnesota

Via Russo: http://www.startribune.com/blogs/70698782.html

I don't think he's the answer to the Wild's problems by any means, but I'd rather have him on our second line than Belanger.

Anything's better than watching Irmen or Nathan Smith try to play. (Or the whole team minus a select few for that matter...)

That's a great move for Minnesota. Really nothing to lose and plenty to gain.

I think it was a very smart move. After last night watching Sheppard play wing the last half of the game he actually created chances and had a little life now. Maybe thats a better fit for him. Now we can have Koivu, Belanger, Ebbett, Brodziak for centers. With all of the injuries, Havlat, Kobasew, Sykora, Pouliot, Bouchard it can be a quick fix before we get everyone back as well. Also, anything is better than Danny Irmen and I still have no idea how he got his chance to play in the NHL.

Don't mind it at all. If he works out like he did last year in Anaheim, excellent. If he doesn't, big deal. We're going no where anyway.

Why so much anti Irmen setiment, being one of the better players in Houston he earned his chance. I thought he did ok, woulda had a good scoring chance his 1st game if Sheppard could make a play. I'd have him playing over Scott, when he plays up, any day of the week.

Hawks fans seem very happy he's gone, and for good reason. Outside his speed, there's not much in his bag of skills. He had respectable numbers playing with Selanne, but I think that has proven to be thanks to Teemu.

I hope he turns out to be a decent player and just stays healthy for the Wild's sake.

Because he sucked!

-Horrible at faceoff circle on important faceoffs
-Horrible in his own end
-Confused in offensive end
-Dragged down the players he played with with his constant turnovers
-Every shot he takes is wide

His only positive moment on the Hawks was Brian Campbell purposely shooting a puck off of him into the net!
