Viva o Porto! Campeao.

I don't know how much Toronto has for trading at this point.

Wheeler never played a single shift as a Phoenix Coyote. I fail to see any similarity in their respective situations. Now, on paper, as players there a few similarities, I guess. Both are big wingers from Minnesota, with substantial offensive upside, drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the top ten. That's about where it ends.

considering Donny and Slats are BFF, I think the natural destination for the Mule is NYR no?

you guys want offense coming back, what about dubinsky + a d prospect not drafted in the 1st round?
I think nyr has the tools to get this done, thats just a starter

I mean on paper mostly. Two high end picks that didn't/won't work out with the Yotes, that's where my parallel is coming from.

I also think there are a lot of options for Mueller to New York. I like Callahan and Dubinsky quite a bit. I imagine Don Maloney probably still likes a lot of the guys he drafted. Sanguinetti, perhaps. With Del Zotto and Gilroy doing what they're doing and McDonagh now in the system, he could be expendable. Higgins doesn't make too much, would fit Tippett's system well, is a warm body to fill in for a year, and then walk this summer. Could be good. Personally, I'm a huge Hagelin fan. Kurt Sauer has a brother in New York's system, who was also a Maloney pick. I don't know, there seems to be a lot there that could make sense.

see that's what I'm saying, something like

Dubinsky + Sauer (2nd rd '05, the team is very high on him as a future top 4 defensive dman)

for

Mueller, 3rd

that work?

We don't have a third but the value is not bad. Also, we probably aren't looking for centers as much as wingers. I'd be fine with Higgins as a fill-in if the primary return was something good like Sanguinetti. Maybe Callahan, straight up?

Dubinsky + for Mueller seems like a great return for phx. And nyr gets a good return.

Personally, I'm not particularly interested in Girardi. To me, Higgins is nothing but a warm body rental. I certainly don't see Girardi and/or Higgins as worth the loss of Mueller's upside. Further, Kurt Sauer is an important part of Phoenix's defense, and he has a fantastic contract. There's really no good reason to look at moving him.

Mueller for Versteeg makes sense to me. Gives both teams what they want. Youngish and proven to Phoenix and cheap and capable to Chicago.

We don't want Jokinen back. He did't work out the first time, so why bother trying again.

I think the last one's the worst, an aging UFA for a good prospect...why would phoenix do that.
