The good ones know to stay on the Canuck boards

I definitely don't think Burrows is better than Sharp but again, Hawks need cap space. That 2nd rounder helps, not sure if it's enough. Sharp is probably pretty low on the list of who the Hawks get rid of first to clear space (probably not on the list) but this is not the worst proposal I've seen. FoxMulder91 said Burrows needs players to put up points, well he'll have plenty in Chicago even without Sharp.

Yes please. Sharp is one heckuva good player. He fills Burrows PK role and is an upgrade offensively. Any Canuck fan that wouldn't do that deal is clueless.

Canucks fan here, and I think Burrows is overrated. I'd do this trade in a heartbeat.

i love burr...but id do that in a heart beat

but why would chicago trade one of their best forwards for cap relief when they can move byfuglien and promote someone like beach or aliu to replace him?

Because they have similar players to Sharp like Versteeg for example. Plus with Hossa getting back from injury they won't hurting in terms of offense.

If the 2nd RD pick isnt enough I'd give up a 1st. Sharp would do wonders with the twins.

But Chicago is in a win now mode so instead of the draft pick how about Corey Schnieder and Burrows for Sharp.

... sorry, but i can't see this happen

burrows in chicago would be strange, sharp in vancouver would be strange ... but stranger things have happen

i'm talking about 'ben eager actually playing a game of hockey without head hunting' or 'adam burish scoring a goal' strange

but they have cheaper similar players to byfuglien, if they want to reduce their salary it makes more sense to trade buff and fill his spot with someone on an elc like beach or aliu. according to capgeek, sharp has a 3.9 mil cap hit and is a ufa come 2012, whereas buff has a 3 mil cap hit and his contract expires a year sooner. if you were stan bowman do you trade the superior player in sharp for 1.9 mil in cap space, or do you trade buff, still get a pick out of it and save 1.8 mil (w/beach) or 2.1 mil (w/aliu)

you said it yourself the hawks are in win now mode, sharp gives them a better chance to win now. believe me i do want sharp on the canucks, but dealing buff is a better business/hockey deal for the hawks.

I think Burrows would better where hair pulling is more encouraged. Maybe he can try foxy boxing.

you must be a canucks fan. you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
burrows is a guy that can play every forward position on any line if asked to, and that is what has been happening so far this year with injuries. when the canucks get healthy and he gets his position on the team solidified, you'll see his game turn around (in terms of what the avg fan can understand).

fair trade IMO. i know hawks fans hate him, but that'd be erased after game 1.

Canucks can't do it anyway. Sharp makes 2x more than Burrows and we'd be over the cap once Demitra returns.

This. Burrows great cap hit would make him a huge commodity in Chi town. but Gillis is a business man who wouldn't screw over a guy taking a home town discount.

No matter what role burrows plays he's worth 2 mill / year.

PS. Sharp is a way better player, as good as Kesler. We already have a Sharp though so Canucks and Chicago don't make good trading partners unless it's for Schneider to Chicago or something like that in the off-season.

Isnt he the one who pulled hair in a fight with the premium heavyweight Duncan Keith? No thanks, Sharp is a much better player.

Sharp is easily the better player, I doubt anyone is denying that, but it's Burrows' contract that make him such a valuable asset. Who knows what Sharp will want once his contract ends, but Burr is locked up to a very nice deal.

I don't like it. Sharp is our 2nd best forward.
We'll take your 3rd best forward then. Kane or Toews, whoever you consider worse.

I believe it's a mid-size model Kia.

Burrows is on a phenomenal contract but as a Canuck fan I'd make this deal. Sharp's speed and finish would look good next to Ryan Kesler.

I wouldn't do it, Burrows is the heart and soul of the Canucks. Pat Sharp is just collecting a paycheck.

I'm sorry but hair pulling is about as feminine as it gets.

Wow. He is a heart and soul guy and twice the player Burrows ever will be. Plus he is a great locker room presence and doesnt pull hair like a biatch.

Sharp does not = Yashin
