Anyway. It definatley sounds like "Whoa" on the Telecasts.
You are in the minority. It's the best goal song in Hockey

When the Rangers score a goal at Madison Square Garden the "Slapshot" (aka "The New York Rangers Goal Song") song is played . The song made its debut on January 20, 1995, the night the 1994 Stanley Cup Champion Banner was raised to the rafters. It was written by Ray Castoldi, the Music Director at Madison Square Garden. The song can be heard here. When played at the Garden, the majority of fans in attendance sing along by saying go-o-oal go-o-oal, Hey! Hey! Hey-Hey-Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey-Hey-Hey even though the real song says whoa-o-o.
whatd I say.

Regarding the Henry and Henrik. I, I think like most people, have somewhat joined them:

Hen - Reeek
Hen - Reeek

I always thought we were doing some kind of native Swedish dialect.

Yeah, I chant that.

And that's exactly why I think we chant "Hen-reek".

what is this goal song you speak of?

when gabby scores we sing "woah?" (with the apprehensive question mark) because a ranger goal these days is a complete shock...should be "goal" though.

It's always tough when there is concrete evidence out there proving Rangers fans are by and large morons. (but not really)
