Anson has been playing with something up his ass for the last two years. The frigid Russian temperatures probly just caused him to finally squeeze it out. That is unfortunate and sad. Anson has to be a little scared though. I would feel pretty damn uneasy.

The article stated that he was "under contract" by the LA Kings. Surely, this was a mistake, yes? IIRC, we didn't sign him, nor did anyone else.

He's not ours but since we were the last team to have him, I think they put that down....

I don't know why fans gotta do that..

Fans these days need to realize that they should have nothing to do w/ these players. Im not defending Ron Artest, but look... If something gets thrown at an athelete just because "he's black" or because "he was laying on a table" thats ridiculous.

Yeah, Weekes had a banana thrown at him in Montreal during the playoffs...

It is really sad; Russia is getting more racist and xenophobic, from a lot of articles I have read. There has been a rise in white supremacist groups among the youth, which might explain this.

It's not only in Russia. It's all over Europe. In Spain, France, Germany keeps a pretty tight lid on their skinheads, Poland. Blacks, Morroccans, Jews, and just about everyother minority is subject to torture over there.

Agree completely. Don't forget Italy. I'm Italian, and Serie A has been plagued with this for a long time. Lazio are currently suspended from their stadium do to racism. It's pretty sad, and Anson probably had no idea that it exists to that level in Europe. He should take out his frustrations on some beautiful Russian women......If he hasn't already.

It isn't totally uncommon in Europe.
Take Oliver Kahn for example. He is maybe the most famous German soocer player, but he always got a bad treatment because of his behaviour.

People were throwing lots of bananas at him and made monkey noises up until two or three years ago. It still happens sometimes on a much smaller level, just like there are some racial slurs against other players, even Germans.

It seems like Europe has a problem with fan behaviour in sports. People think of the other team as enemy, some for real, some just for fun. They throw swear words at the players and officials.

This is taken to the extreme in former Yugoslavia. Happened quite a few times already that fans were battling and killing each other because of the rivalry of their teams.
