A defensively responsible Center coming back is definitely a good thing.

I can't figure out why Callahan and Drury don't generate anything together. I feel like they should be a pair made in heaven, they worked well Dru's first year together.

Maybe Cally should center Dru?? (just throwing it out there)

How about?

Higgins - Prospal - Gaborik
Avery - Anisimov - PAP
Callahan - Drury - Lisin
Kotalik - Boyle - Voros/Huggy

PP 1
Higgins - Prospal - Gaborik
MDZ - Kotalik

PP2
Boyle - Anisimov - PAP
Redden - Gilroy

Pk 1
Drury - Callahan

PK 2
Gaborik - Prospal

Until Dubi comes back

then it gets interesting...

Waive/trade Voros
Maybe call up Byers again
Huggy in the pressbox against most teams
Maybe shock us all & give Corey Locke a shot to try to increase secondary scoring (PAP has shown himself somewhat useful...but...) and move Drury to wing on the 2nd line
Really put some pressure on Dubi, Cally, Lisin, Higgins to put up or shut up!
Just don´t let it ruin Captain Drurys day...

Prospal - Dubi - Gaborik
Avery - Anisimov - Drury
Callahan - Locke - Higgins
Kotalik - Boyle - Lisin/Byers

Huggy Bear...

PAP back to Hartford???

Whatever...

Neither are particularly good at creating chances for their teammates. They're both better at playing around the net, picking up rebounds and all that. If they had someone that could get them the puck on a regular basis they'd probably be better.

SO, who is sitting? Voros? Brashear? I Would hope PAP would stay up as that line with Avery and Anisimov has been very good.

Drury is playing tomorrow

Quote:
“I’m not a coach that says, ‘Oh, should I just give him the eight or nine minutes?’ He’s gonna play,” Tortorella said. “And if I don’t think he’s able to play at a certain time in the game we’ll give him a rest, but we’re going full-bore with him as we start against Florida.”

Balls to the wall.

Quote:
“Yeah, I’m traveling, hopefully I’ll get in there tomorrow,” said Drury, who reported he passed about an hour-long series of medical tests on Monday and said he just needed to clear “another good 24 hours.” “Barring anything, I would assume I’ll be in. I don’t anticipate any issues.”

Kotalik is questionable from the hit he took last night.

The overuse of the word is nauseating.

Drury sucks, and is wasting the team's money. Obviously I don't wish an injury on him, but whatever, if it happened, I can't say i'd really care. There are much worse atrocities that happen every single day and go unnoticed.
Agreed, I had such high hopes for him when he came here. He is a 7.5 million dollar Blair Betts.

1)Drury comes back to save the sinking ship

or

2)Drury suffers another concussion and is forced to miss the season enabling the Rangers to use the money on other players.

Either way,the Rangers can't lose
Have people gone crazy, "Drury comes back to save sinking ship". The guy probably wont score more than 10 goals this year lol give me a break his D is only decent because he puts all his emphasis on it.

[QUOTE=mullichicken25;22287715]im sure this will get mixed reactions from this board but I, for one, am happy he's back in the lineup, especially following a big win

i feel like now he can come back into the lineup without as much pressure of feeling like he needs to have a lights out performance to save this team

hopefully he feels like he can just go out there and contribute to the team rather than attempt to carry it

also, I'm hoping he see's some PP time because I don't really feel like Avery or Cally are cut out for it[/QU

The game gets better every year, he was 3rd line material the first year he got here, and is worse now what does that tell you, no matter what situation he will not do anything that consitent or help this team in anyway that will be close to his earnings because he is not skilled enough.

Drury back Wednesday

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=507337

"Rangers coach John Tortorella was more direct, saying that Drury, who played only 19 seconds before Flames forward Curtis Glencross caught him with a blindsided hit to the head, is definitely going to be in and he's not going to worry about managing the captain's minutes, either."

Call him whatever you want, but we need him in the line up right now. Unless you're fine with Callahan, Higgins & co at center?

Obviously not, right now he's very responsible defensively, I'd like to see him open up offensively...
