Cowen likes Kozun and Jones for Team Canada

Had the chance to talk to Jared Cowen of the Spokane Chiefs (and Ottawa Senators) and had to ask him about Martin Jones of the Calgary Hitmen, who he was playing that night.

Not only did Cowen endorse Jones, but he also endorsed Kozun for Team Canada.

Personally, I don't know if Jones makes it and Kozun has been underwhelming of late, but he has great chemistry with Brayden Schenn, so I expect him in a scoring role come late December.

For fun, the audio is here: http://www.futureconsiderations.ca/#/jared-cowen/

It's essentially the last thing Cowen says.

Sorry for the ignorance but who exactly is Cowen and how is he associated with the selection of team canada?

Thanks in advance.

Jared Cowen was just drafted by the OTT Senators last draft. He was in the same discussion with Tavares/Hedman before his injury that took him out most all year and saw him drop to believe #9. So not really anyone associated with the selection of team Canada but a top prospect speaking highly of our prospects I guess.

Oh, ok, that Cowen, I'm definitely familiar with. I thought for some reason, that this Cowen had some association with the selection of team canada.

At #9, he could be the steal of the draft. Wasn't he ranked 3rd or even 2nd prior to the injury?

He was ranked #3-4 at this point last year, I think most had Tavares and Hedman comfortably ahead of him. Matt Duchene and Evander Kane has big years while Cowen was good but not great before getting injured.

Him dropping to #9 was a bit of a surprise, but we'll see he turns out closer to what Braydon Coburn was to the 2003 Draft.
