Yep. Gave up only 4 goals in two games to Washington and Detroit,

Pyatt and White have helped however.

Thing is, Leach can do more or less what Gill can do, but cheaper.

The only reason to keep Gill is if there is a chance to get deep into the playoffs, where the tolerance for holding and hooking goes way up and Gill's importance multiplies accordingly.

I would say from the recent Gill-less games that Gill would block and limit the amount of shots Price has had to face.

Plekanec and Kostitsyn might be a duo too, they've played together most of the year except when Andrei was punished on the 4th line. This is why I think the CPK line stays as it is. Pacioretty, Pouliot and Sergei should compete to win a spot with the two Gs.

The Fatendresse trade, Pacioretty playing better and Sergei being recalled really enhances our potential top6 winger depth...
I would say it would be more X-Pleky-AK, where Cammy either joins them or the Gomez-Gionta duo.

I'm sorry, but as far as cap and quality play is concerned - Mara, Gorges and O'Byrne have played a lot better than Gill has this year. With Markov, Spacek and Hamrlik - where is the place for him?

I would like to see at some point once Benoit Pouliot comes back:

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Cammaleri
A.Kostitsyn - Pouliot - S.Kostitsyn
Moen - Metropolit - Lapierre
JT Wyman - Tom Pyatt - Ryan White

I believe that this second line could do some serious damage if given the chance to develop together !!

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Kostitsyn
Paciorrety - Gomez - Gionta
Pouliot - Pyatt - White
Moen - Metropolit - Lapierre

Kostitsyn can slot into Paciorrety's spot if he plays well and/or Paciorrety and Pouliot could flip spots as needed.

Hamrlik - Spacek
Gorges - O'Byrne
Gill - Mara

Bergeron can slot in here and there as needed [i.e. takes Gill's spot one night - Mara's spot another].

Price
Halak

Pretty much what I would do but I would put Markov on the first D pair

Plus I would send back Pyatt or White in the minor and keep S.kost on the 3 line with pouliot in C.

Camallerri-Plekanec-A.kost
Paciorrety - Gomez - Gionta
S.kost-Pouliot-White/Pyatt
Moen - Metropolit - Lapierre

Hamrlik - Markov
Spacek - O'Byrne/Gorges
Gill - Mara/Gorges

7th D:
O'byrne/Gorges/Mara

Cammallerri-Plekanec-Gionta...pretty scary line
Andrei-Gomez-Sergei...gomez could be that guy
Pouliot-Metropolit-Pacioretty...3rd line with offensive potential
Moen-Lapierre-Pyatt/D'ago....i hate to see Lapierre on the 4th line
White
Chipchura
Laraque

Markov-Obyrne
Spacek Hamrlik
Gorges-Mara
Gill

I think you should know by now that every team needs more than 6 regular defensemen.

what about mab? Is he just playing over his head or are the last few games an indication that he's just hit his stride? It will be hard to take him out the way he is moving the puck in his own zone, and his ability to get the shot through in the offensive zone.

I dont know if the d will ever be all healthy at the same time, but after you figure out who should be in the top 6, there might be a couple undeserving guys sitting out regardless.
