Hmm that's actually not a bad ideal. Manny has kinda been forgotten and it's a little surprising that nobody took a chance on him. He's a reliable veteran who would be the perfect backup to Elliott.
But it's not gonna happen. Hopefully Elliott/Brodeur is a fine tandem for the next month. I got full confidence in Elliott, the fact that he's 21-9-5 in his career in the NHL is very encouraging. And as for Brodeur...the guy was signed for a reason and has had his momens in Bingo...let's hope he can do his job while he's up here.
I really don't think we sign anyone/trade for anyone, Elliott will get the majority of starts, he proved last year he is more good enough to handle the load, while Brodeur will probably start every 5th game or so. Moreso in the back-to-back games.
damn 4 weeks...I'm not laughing anymore. This sucks
Like Fuhr said, this is Elliot's time to shine. He's been playing pretty good so far this year in the games he's played, hopefully he can keep it up. Not expecting him to steal any game, but just be solid, be consistent
NYI has about 17M in cap space. They don't exactly need to rush to get anyone out of there.
That and they will be moving Biron if they do move one of them, who I'd rather not have. I'm pretty confident that Elliott can carry the load for a month. Plus with DPs injury history I'd carry 3 goalies if I was the Islanders.
anyone watch the video on tsn.ca? clouston was talking about cosmetic surgery after the structural one, was he trying to make a pascal is ugly joke? lol
This the time for Elliott to shine.
I believe Leclaire's contract is up at the end of the year, this stretch of games for Elliott might help the team decide if re-signing Leclaire should be a priority.
Throughout his career Leclaire has been a victim of horrible luck, if this team wants to succeed they need to bank on someone who's less likely to go down at the worst of times (Hasek anyone).
I wouldn't call this a blessing in disguise, but it will be very interesting to see how Elliott handles starting more consistently: he had issues with consistency last year.

Both have another year left on their contracts after this season.
