Where is Michel Lacroix?

I know this is kindof random, but am I the only one who noticed that Michel Lacroix hasn't been the announcer at the Bell Centre for the last 2 games? Anyone know what happened to him? I haven't gone to any games lately but it wouldn't feel like a habs game without his epic voice...

He usually does stuff for the Olympics, so it wouldn't surprise me if he's doing something Olympic related.

A lot of us have noticed. Perhaps somebody should email the Canadiens Organization in the name of the board and see if they answer.

The last time he was there he mispronounced Plekanec's name. Maybe Plekanec, the gangsta that he is, didn't appreciate?

I've noticed too.. the game doesn't sound as epic but am I the only one (for real in this case) who thinks it was time for a change? I dont want to be mean but he couldn't pronounce english names for nothing.

I thought the habs were Playing in Columbus for a while because the announcer's voice wasn't his.

On LaPresse's website, there's a live chat during the games and tonight Richard Labbé said Lacroix is on vacation in Arizona. Don't know if Labbé was being serious (but he was at the Bell Center).

You jest ... he took a vacation during hockey season? How dare he. Trade him.

It's probably for the Olympics. The same thing happened in 2006...games just aren't quite the same.

yeah that was so weird

He has to be the announcer for Habs games

I thought he might be dead for a second and that was a weird feeling..we should give this guy credit right now while he is with us..he's getting older..lets not wait till he dies to give him all the credit he deserves

Yeah that was just wrong! I really will miss his voice when he's gone, I hope to god he has a lot of years ahead of him! His voice and enthusiasm is amazing after the goals and this new guy, I mean he was alright, but so plain. Lacroix is unique. Hurry back from vacation man!

I just loved in the past years when he said :

Alex KOOOOooooVALEV, he really had the best way to say it

Wait I actually miss the player too

But seriously Lacroix is an awesome announcer !

Michel was away for a week. Vacation.

His shoes are huge to fill. It has been, for the past 7 years, and continues to be an honor to replace him.

He will be back on Saturday.

Until next time,
Sebastien Goulet (aka Goulz)
