What's weird is a lot of the reports from camp had Shvidki paired with Olli & Viktor on the top line and they were dominant (specifically Denis & Jokinen together). Why does Keenan not do the same thing in the games is beyond me I just hope that if/when Shvidki is traded, its not to an Eastern Conference team so he doesn't come back to bite us in the ass too much.
Well, I believe we have one benefit. Due to last year's waiver draft deal to acquire Biron, we all learned that a team in your own division can't claim a player off your waiver draft unprotected list. At least we don't need to be concerned about him playing for Atlanta or Tampa Bay. Of course, the way it's looking, his landing on another team won't be a concern. Especially not for a $1.125 million salary and the appearance that he's not dedicated enough to make the NHL. Who'd take him, especially with the potential for salary caps in the future?
